shommel, the name Terry Young brought a sigh of nostalgia on my mind... The first pro main event I ever saw with my father was Oct,12, 1942,between a young lightweight sensation Beau Jack, against Tough Terry Young[ Angelo DeSanza},at the old St. Nicholas Arena...What a war it was with the faster bolo punching Jack winning the dec. Tough Terry Young was a friend of Rocky Graziano, from the East Side,[who I saw many times]...It was Terry Young who took Graziano to Stillmans Gym and introduced young Rocco Barbella to Terry's mgr. Irving Cohen and Whitey Bimstein, and the rest is history... As for Terry Young, not a great fighter, but NONE tougher than he...NONE. Terry Young was shot to death in 1967 in his old neighberhood.. Sidenote- Terry Young's father also fought in the1920s as Young Terry.. I hope i shed some light on Tough Terry....b.b.
