Has anyone ever been able to track him down and find out if he is actually alive or that the boxrec listing of him dying in 1984? A newspaper article back in the 40's listed his real name as "James Roberts"

    https://www.newspapers.com/clip/9443498/income-taxes-say-curtis-sheppard-is/

Now if he did in fact die in 1984 that would make the article that Aram Alkazoff wrote not true? In the article he claimed to be friends with Sheppard and that he personally told him he had spent "Over 32 years in prison" There were some insane stories about him in the article including one where a guy shot him in the head only to take the gun off him and kill him in return but I really feel like journalists wouldn't be able to pass up a title like "Ex Heavyweight boxer gets shot in the head only to kill the man in return" Right? No articles for a boxer going to prison for something like murder just seems strange.

He also claims he got indicted by the US government in 1988 for organized crime which after that is where he met Curtis in prison but that wouldn't go along with boxrec's listing of Sheppard's death being 1984-05-10 (Age 63)

So are the stories of Sheppard being in prison and killing two people just a hoax? Did he actually did in 1984? Would be great if someone could find this information out.

This is the article for anyone who hasn't read it:

More mysterious and intriguing then any HW I've read about. You know all we know, I have made threads on the topic and the unanimous opinion is an unknowing shrug. I do know according to posters here video exists in private collections and museum's.

Do you agree that if he really did some of the things the article states that there would be articles about it? You can articles for pretty much any boxer who was convicted of such crimes. In this day and age I would think it would be easier to find out.

Alkazoff is liar. He wasnt part of organized crime. He was a low level street drug dealer called “Mr. Pill” because he dealt in illegal prescription meds. I wouldnt believe a word that came out of this scumbags mouth.

I have seen three different dates listed for his death. All 1984.
