Any interest in Cotto-Martinez?

You must be crazy.

Martinez is a thinking, counterpunching fighter that comes to fights with a game plan, and a back up gameplan if his initial game plan doesn't pay off.

And as the previous poster just stated, Martinez is big and strong, so Cotto will burn himself out if he tries to push him around, but to be honest, I don't even see Cotto getting Martinez in that position in the first place.

Martinez is a hard, accurate puncher, that will put Cotto on the floor if Cotto tries to rush in. Cotto may have been able to get away with that against Floyd, but he often had to take shots to get inside.

Floyd ain't a puncher. Martinez knocks out middleweights with a single punch.

With BOTH hands.

And while I think Cotto's right hand has improved substantially, it's not good enough to deal with a Southpaw like Martinez who has size, reach, speed, and power.

It's a bad matchup. Cotto is not only too small, but he's simply outmatched.

Cotto does have a good jab, but it's not enough to win the fight, and to be honest, not even enough to make it competitive in this situation.

I have no desire to see Cotto get beat down in a one sided fight.

 

Cotto don't want any of that. To people who actually thinks Cotto is a true 154'er....lay off the pipe.
