Any Jack Dempsey fans here?

Why should he? Jeanette wasn't scheduled to fight him. If Nino Valudes appeared in the ring with an un-signed cotnract, do you think Rocky would have fought him?

Would n't Jeanette have come along too early for Dempsey ?

 

The sad thing is if you read this article carefully..you will see it hints at the point of dempsey refusing to go along with the fight against Jeneatte because he is a negro...but that if the fighter across the ring was a different fighter than Joe Bonds, but white, that Dempsey would have gone along with the fight.

I don't know for sure. I just said it "hints" at it. Listen, I believe Dempsey was way ahead of his time h2h, he was clearly a great fighter, but when you really look at the big picture dempsey really hurt his legacy by never fighting Harry Wills and Harry Greb. Had he fought and defeated both, I would probably rate Dempsey top 2 all time.
