I'm 18, turning 19 this Sunday. Plan on boxing for a while. Are there any other late starters here? And is it still possible to get far starting this late?

Lol at 19 being considered a late starter. Why would you be thinking about how far you can get anyway, you need smaller goals first. Maybe getting your first fight would be a good goal?
You won't get anywhere thinking about things that far into the future, think about what you can do today.

Started properly in my 2nd year at uni about a year ago now at 19 then took a break and starting again properly now. My aim atm is to get between 5-10 fights at the moment I've had one and that just seems a pathetic figure. If I get to 10 ill see from there I'd like to win something for my uni if I can.

I started couple of years ago when I was 26.

First my goal was just to get one fight, but now I have had 9 matches and I even got opportunity to compete for national championship.

Oh man, I can't count how many times I see this topic on other sites. I'm already 15/16/17/18, am I too old to start boxing?

If we tell you "yes, you're too damn old" will that actually change your mind about boxing? or are you going to ignore what we say and do what you want anyway? Chances are, it's the latter.

Is it too old? You can do this at age 80 if you want to.

If you want to actually compete, or go to the olympics, or go pro - is the real question.

And even then, I agree 100% with Dealt With.
Just try it out and see if you even like it. Why think so far in advance?
I can't even count how many people try it out, and realize this is not for them.

Started at 21, had a fight at 22 against a guy who had his first fight at 23. A year later he won LBCs and state Golden Gloves, which I consider 'going far.' Now I just gotta do it.

IMO although the guys who started at 10 years old obviously have a huge advantage, I wouldn't do it if I had the chance again. It's just not good for the developing brain to be knocked about.
