It's a down time for Mexican boxers right now, a lot of the big names are fading off and some of the newcomers just had hiccups. They'll be back, but I don't see a "savior" out there right now. Edit to add: By "savior" I mean PPV headliner or guy that crosses over aka the Superstar. Morales, Barrera, and Hoya are all but finished. Margarito and Marquez just lost. Big up-and-comers in Ortiz, Antillion, and Angulo all just suffered recent set-backs. I think the OP meant the HUGE name Mexican fighter... the fact we are talking about is that Mexicans have some of the greatest boxers of all time, and right now they are lacking their up-and-coming Superstar.
I like Mexican boxing. It's not going anywhere. It's only a matter of time until the next great comes along. Too bad your bias comes out in all your posts. Even worse, you're a crybaby.
nervous, mexican boxing has never needed a savior because it does not rely on just a handful of fighters because mexico has in the last 20-25 years had many great fighters. sure, some top prospects have just suffered losses but one loss does not make a career.
Mexican Boxing needs to be saved? WTF Mares Angulo Garcia Alverez Arreola Rodriguez Molina Molina Ramos Ortiz etc. It doesn't need to be saved it's doing just fine.
Blue ray hates mexican fighters!! I always see him talkin trash about mexican fighters... get a life man, your act is getting old!!! He would rather get in a car accident then root for a mexican fighter
club fighter: Kermit fought a great fight and clearly won!! I meant that it was close and angulo is not finished!! I actually was very impressed with cintron because he changed his style to beat angulo! The great puncher became a masterful boxer to out-point perro
So because an ATG moves up two weight classes from his ceiling weight (already well higher than where he spent his prime) and loses decisively to a bigger younger ATG and one of the GOAT in every weight class they've competed in, and a fat slob who never deserved or earned a title shot to begin with gets tattooed by the second best heavyweight alive known for their toughness and stoppage ratio, all of a sudden "Mexican boxing" is "bleeding"? GTFROOOH. (Get the **** right on out of here.)
I don't agree with the original poster, but I've thought that JMM was slipping for a little while now. Even the Diaz fight which he won, he was getting his ass kicked until Diaz lost it. I do honestly think there is gonna be a little while until we see the next Mexican superstar in boxing. I just don't see the prospect up-and-coming that's gonna be the headliner. Mexican boxing is nowhere near dead though, it's just going to be a little while till it has a big name again.
You can see the Urbano Antillon vs. Miguel Acosta fight in the link below. It's a good fight... Video Link: Antillon vs. Acosta .
