What gave any of the you the idea that Mexican boxing needs to be saved?

Because we dont have a premier champion right now?

There are mexican fighters in the Top 10 of every lower weight class, I have no clue the Mexican boxing scene would need "saving". Boxing is as popular in Mexico as it has ever been

Mexican boxing doesnt need to be saved at the moment but they are in desperate need of a superstar fighter. After the Margarito fiasco, JMM losing lopsidingly, Angulo exposed by Cintron and Ortiz showing his lack of heart, the promoters are so quick to dub the next best Mexican prospect as the next greatest thing to the sport already. Just look at Saul Alvarez, ill bet not even half the people on this board seen a single fight of his but hes getting crowned as Mexico's best fighter, what has he done yet? As soon as he loses then the next best Mexican prospect gets crowned, prolly Jose Benavidez. Mexico needs to stay patient, they had consecutive generations of superstars in JCC and DLH there shouldnt be a rush to find the next famous one.

i would not say angulo was exposed because with 15 16 fights to step in with former world champ showed heart an cintron much more formidable than ouma who martyarossian faught an looked worse aginist after 26 fights angulo will be a champ
