Its an absolute disgrace no offence but if i was walking outside sheffield arena and it was a british title fight for 15 quid entry i would only be thinking about it never mind watching it on the telly for that much. I'm gonna make a point of watching this one on stream

You wouldn't watch this live for £15, even if you happened to be passing the arena?

    :patsch

    Should or will?

:huh at all you ****ers. complaining about fights not being made and when one is you all say your going to stream it!

Its a vicious circle - if warren loses a lot of money on this card i would imagine he would think twice about such a gamble again

At the very least from an exposure oint of view Warren has about 20 of britians best prospects in his stable and he is putting on a big card and there are only going to be 3 fights shown.

I'm hoping to convince a few friends to chip in and help pay for this. I can't/won't be paying £15 for this on my lonesome. I'm looking forward to the fight, the that and the bill don't warrant me folking out that sort of money.

I dont want to pay it and understand white tiger`s annoyance at sky.I will moan about it all week and then end up coughing up come Saturday.I will check to see if any of the euro channels that are still open to free use have it first but I dont have much hope. The Clev fight might be as he is in with a German but not the Groves fight.

Looked up the euro channels and only sky box office is showing de gale and cleverly in the whole of Europe.R.T.L. is showing Wlad v Haye though so at least that is one I will avoid paying for.

I wont pay for it. I havnt paid for a ppv in god knows how long. Its bad enough paying the subs that Sky charge and then seeing some of money going into stupid sports like Cricket and Darts what a waste of money.

Also add into this factor none of the fighters are PPV standard. I think it is down to Warren who as always gets his way with putting these PPVs on. I think Warren needs to look at the figures and maybe Sky will also when they are doing up a new contract if the PPVs aint pulling in the numbers between the 2 I think there will be no longer any PPVs on run by Warren for a long long time. How many of Degales fights have been on PPVs so far. For him to build up a good following he needs to be on normal Sky for as long as possible to get a decent pay out on him.

I don't think that it is really that relevant, these days, to complain that Benn-Eubank and others were on for free. That was a long time ago, now, the world has changed - it costs a fortune to fuel the car, it takes two hours plus to get through security etc. at an airport, and ppv revenue is often a big contributor to cards getting put together and appearing on television.

Sky have, as a previous poster noted, laid on a few big international fights for free recently, as the money to stage those has been made outside of the UK. Overall, I think that they are very good for boxing - sure, we don't like all their choices, decision etc., but without them there would be precious little boxing on television over here. Week in week out we get very good domestic action within our subscription fee - the British LMW title fight at the weekend being a case in point.

Now we have an unbeaten, young, British fighter fighting for a legitimate world title against a dangerous opponent, and the British guy has home advantage. We also have one of the better domestic grudge matches of recent years between two unbeaten fighters with two decent belts on the line. There is a tendency for boxing fans to complain that prospects are overly-protected, yet now we have Cleverly fighting Braehmer, or that domestic rivals don't fight one another as they both want the paydays down the track so don't want to risk a domestic 'L', yet now we have DeGale and Groves taking a risk. The ppv money is an important component, in the modern era, of getting fighters to take these risks. Braehmer would not be coming to the UK without the money that Sky/ppv can offer, and Groves and DeGale might not be taking this chance at this point.

So while I instinctively agree with the OP, in the modern world it is just part of the package. Life gets more expensive, and the 'normal' way of doing things changes. I still don't much like paying best part of £3 a pint in a country pub, as I remember it being cheaper years ago. I remember cars being cheaper, all of that. But frankly I think that this bill is worth £15 of my money. I can't get to the fight as I have small kids, and I don't think that it would be on television in this form without ppv, so all in all I think that it is fair enough.

I thought that Haye-Harrison would be a terrible fight, but again I can see why it was ppv - two Brits with personal history fighting for a version of the world heavyweight title? I can see why Sky did that. Same with Khan, a Brit defending his world title against an undefeated champion at home? Sky don't do it to us that often, for all the good they do I can rationalize it.

Apologies for the extreme length of this rambling post, btw!

Wonder how much it's costing Warren to bring Braehmer over? Could be a contributing factor to this being PPV...

I think it's worth it. These guys work hard and risk their health for my entertainment. I don't expect them to do it for tuppence ha'penny.

It'd cost me a fiver or so to watch some dog**** movie so £15 for two decent fights is passable.

I have boycotted 2 Khan fights though, ***an and McCloskey. They were a píss take, especially ***an.
