The results should definitely be in by now. Does anyone here know something about it?

No word yet. Almost certainly a bulging disk. Very serious injury if so.

"My assessments have been completed, and diagnosed that I have torn muscle fibres in my right internal oblique, where a portion of the muscle has also detached from the bone where it inserts."

Damn, that's quite a rare muscle injury.

    I call bull**** on that

Donaire TKOd him and he is trying to save face

In the third Donaire hit him with a counter body shot straight where his floating rib is. Burnett immediately backed up and guarded that side heavily. Bell rings and he goes to his corner panicking and you hear him say to Booth "he got me with it, right on the waistline" . He comes out in round 4 and tries to fight on but cant and probably made it worse throwing punches and moving so he drops and the fight is over

Is be impressed with the kid if he took a body shot hard enough to stop him fighting and his delayed reaction lasted two rounds. I'm not a fan and backed donnaire to win, nothing against the lad either. But I think the injury was genuine

I do find it weird that they were panicking in the corner before the injury happened. It was like something had already happened in preparation and they didn’t want to pull out of the fight.

Also wasn’t there a thread a couple of weeks ago about a rumour Burnett was pulling out????

I thought it was a broken rib for the record. I immediately discounted Macintosh's hysterical ranting about it being a back injury, what with him not being medically qualified one iota and all.

His injury does make sense to where he was indicating but it's very rare to damage the deep abdominals to the degree he has i.e. where it's rendered him hospitalised. He said to Booth as well at the beginning of the round, "I can't throw it".

Injured going in and not admitting it for contractual reasons?

12 minutes 34, sneaky body shot straight to the floating rib, Burnett disguises it like a pro, continues, gets cornered and gets hit there again, round finishes and he goes to his corner in panic mode

Without trying to Eleven-erife you mate, I posted much pretty much the exact same thing at the beginning of the week. You can see Burnett noticeably wince in pain in slow-mo after that left hook. I also said that the reason they hadn't come out straight away with confirmation of injury is because it wasn't back related.

I read your first post and thought you were just being giddy...then you backed it up with the shot on the video and now i’m buying into your theory a little bit. It really hurt him, he struggled to defend himself before the bell went. I’m struggling to be cynical enough to think that Burnett and Booth would deny it was the shot that did it. Maybe it was just coincidence but it was a great shot.

I think what we can definitely conclude is that it was a deserved TKO win for Donaire. He caused it. I don’t like to question the integrity of athletes when they suffer injuries but valid points and good arguments have been put forward by people in this thread.

Re match might be easier to get if the fight was ended by an injury.
