Any news on B-Hop?

We all know B-Hop keeps in great shape & no doubt that has helped him stay at the highest level for such a long time & well into his forties. However, he is at an age where the skills can just erode, just like that!

Its been five months since he beat Pavlik & I'm pretty sure Beranrd said he wanted to box twice this year before retiring. His aim of a rematch with Calzaghe is not going to happen. Joe has probably got way too comfortable by now not having to have the discipline to train accordingly. Calzaghe will not be back!

Adamek-Hopkins negotiations are all but done & the fight is not happening! What about facing Chad Dawson later this year? People might be quick to say Beranrd is too old, slow for Dawson, but knowledge is one big advantage in B-Hop's favour, as well as experience.

Who would you like to see Bernard in there with & who do you actually think will face him next?

Good news. $1M is the minimum Adamek deserves, around $1,5M should be acceptable.

I figured they would up the ante. I would not be surprised if this fight still happens on July 11th.

bernard hopkins legacy is established at middleweight. he is in a position now where he can fight anybody and his legacy is not tarnished if he loses. thats why he took the tarver fight, i think the only reason he came back to boxing was to fight roy jones, and after roy jones loss against calzaghe he isn't interested in that fight no more.

i would love to see hopkins fight adamek or dawson, but adamek hasn't even bothered negotiating and priced himself out of the fight. dawson is the next big superstar of american boxing. dawson, berto and kirkland are being brought through slowly because they are going to be big PPV sellers in the future. HBO doesn't want to see any of these three lose, so if they say yes to the fight between dawson and hopkins its a very big risk that can lose them alot of money.

for hopkins now i think its all about the big fights, i don't think anything around 168-175 interests him so i think he will move up to cruiser and look for a fight against adamek. if that doesn't happen then i think he will have a crack at the heavyweight division. an ideal opponent at heavyweight for him is james toney and after that fight he can look at himself and see if he is good enough to be heavyweight champ.
