No and I hope for the love of boxing that we never hear more...

Hopkins is game over: sad but true.

I think he should put on one more master class and call it a day. I think he still has it in him to make some young, exciting, comeforward guy look like a fool and still provide an entertaining fight.

He should give the Road Warrior his rematch. If anybody deserves a nice payday it's Johnson. Aside from that it would probably competitive and a nice fight for boxing fans.

I reckon he could still capture a title at cruiserweight, not to many strong champs at that weight.

There were talks of him fighting Shumenov, what ever happened with that? I thought it was practically a done deal, but there's nothing on boxrec.

I agree, he could add onto his resume with a schooling through one last hurrah. He's got it in him.

    Also not a bad idea.

If Johnson wasn't as quite as done as he is and hadn't retired, that might have been a good fight. Their first was quality.

I think the problem now for Hopkins adding a paper title to his resume becomes, who airs it???

I dont think either HBO or Showtime profit or would air in showcasing a Hopkins fight against a no-name!

Shumenov seems to be the only guy that would be willing + would make sense. I'd like to see it, as I am a fan of Shumenov and would value the win for Hopkins' legacy moreso than the average person on here, I'm sure.

I agree. With Cleverly facing Simcic, I think it is very likely we will see Hopkins-Shumenov before the year is out.

If Hopkins wins this one, I can see him taking the unification bout with the winner of Cleverly-Simcic in mid-2013.

He wouldnt beat any of the current champs apart from Jones, who is facing Lebedev next

There are weaker champs at 175lbs imo
