I think that fight is inevitable, but timing-wise it couldn't happen until the summer. If Interbox wants him to fight in April, it will have to be someone else first. Which is why I think a smaller show where he fights someone like Mendy or Tsypko is more likely.
I would fully expect Bute to outclass Miranda if they fight, but Miranda always has a puncher's chance. Bute couldn't afford to get sloppy like he did in Andrade 1. I don't think he gets up from a flush Miranda shot.
A fight in late April would give Miranda 4 months (14-15 weeks) to rest and get ready for the fight with Bute. If Bute makes a low profile title defense in March/April I don't think it will be against guys like Tsypko or Mendy. I think they will try to pick an American or someone who at least has some kind of a name in the USA. (I guess Mendy does but it's been so long since the first Showtime tournament...) A guys like Peter Manfredo barf) comes to mind.
Unless Bute is fighting one of the boxers in the super 6 tournament, the best opponent for Bute is Hopkins. But I don't know if Hopkins wants to take that risk.
Both boxers promoters said this week that the possibility of that fight happening soon are slim. Pascal and Bute have different agendas at a different weight
Pavlik isn't leaving 160lbs anytime soon. Hopkins wont take the risk against a fairly unknown opponent, but I hear HBO is pushing for it. Hopefully Miranda will get by Stieglitz and set up the fight. Bute was very impressive in his last fight. Miranda is going to have to show some big improvement to give Bute a real challenge. Cant wait to see how he looks in the upcoming WBO showdown.
