There are several talented young heavyweights like Mike Perez, Ondrej Pala, Oleg Platov, V. Glazkov and Denis Boytsov who are poorly managed and promoted. Tyson Fury is lucky to have a good promoter in Hennesey, and Robert Helenius is fortunate to be with Sauerland. Mike Perez and those other guys need to get with a good promoter like Sauerland, Hatton, or Hennesey instead of letting their talent go to waste.
After his success in Prizefighter he had a workout against Zack Page - someone he'd already beaten. This guy has talent and power but they are doing a terrible job with him at the moment regarding any promotion. Perez would beat the ever loving **** out of Fury - it would be humiliating. He really needs some big fights next year.
Just fought Zack Page a few weeks ago, again! Don't expect to see him in action again for another 9 months, probably for Page vs Perez 3.
I think we're all in consensus here about fury's chances with Perez, but Manning is right......their are more viable and makeable fights out there for him besides journeymen Page.:-( Fury knows his chances as well, but Monsour would likely make an early 2012 date to meet the young slugger, take a short stack for the fight and make it interesting.:deal
i think a fight between fury and perez is probably unlikely now as fury has the commonwealth belt. I would expect him to want to defend that against a decent opponent, maybe stiverne or price.
Price is who've most of us have heard, but that fight has been in the rumor mill now for going on 18 months. I don't think Fury likes that fight as the size difference isn't great enough, the power edge is not so much in his favor, the chins are about equally glass, but Price is the slicker overall better fighter.:deal
i think the fight between price and fury will happen though, the fight between price and mcdermott was an eliminator for a title fury holds, and fury likes to go up against undefeated opponents
I'd like to see him in with those guys too. Wilder is too overprotected to fight someone as good as Perez, but Mike could probably get a fight with Johnson.
I think Fury would beat Perez. I don't say this easily. But Perez looks like he isn't hungry to me. He is so far our of shape and if Fury could survive the early onslaught I think Perez would gas and eventually lose on points. If perez proves to be hungry again I'd reconsider but for now my money would be on Fury to be honest.
