His fight with Klitschko was about as career-damaging an event can be. Still, if (and I doubt he will) he gets in shape, he could be a decent contender in a weak division. He was doing quite okay against Vitali until the TKO/injury, if memory serves me well. So much talent, so much gone to waste. :-( I'd like to see them repeat this great fight, but now in the professionals: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6kyDFycEhoA[/ame]
Solis simply doesn't have the drive and discipline since he left Cuba. I think he even said at this point he doesn't even like boxing, but probably doesn't have anything else he can do.
It seems I heard his comeback fight is postponed or delayed, not sure why, but I'm not sure if he's ever a factor again in the HW division. Tough injury to come back from, and he has no chin. American fast food has been too tempting to him as well.
He's supposed to be having a comeback fight this October, and apparently since his lost, he's been fairly serious about his boxing... I read it on google news a lil while ago.. But I can't seem to find the link again :S
His october 14 fight is off it seems. Please give the man a chance to get back. He has been in hospital a long time with his knee-injury. Another cuban ,Luis Ortiz now 8 in WBA and Mike Perez might be an iron -Mike
Solis was hitting Vitali flush before his knee caved. He's a talented fighter and could rule the division post-Wlad if he comes back focused and in shape.
