This kid was banging m/fers out on Bute undercards, and as soon as Bute went inactive due to injury, Cote has remained inactive.

He last fought on the Froch Bute UC and dominated Mark Lloyd before it was stopped.

How bout it Canadians........Where is APU?:think

Last I heard he had an undisclosed illness that left him very fatigued. I really don't know if it was ever announced what he had.

I enjoyed his fights and always wondered why he wasn't getting more exposure. He better hurry up because he's not getting any younger.

His sickness made his body overheat. His career is probably over.

    Wow, sucks about the illness.

Not something he would typically recover from in a short time like a flu or an infection huh?

Must be a disease like cancer, or some congenital disease that strikes later in life.

I'd like to hear more about.

    Thanks for sharing guys.:-(

What I heard is he accepted to fight in a weight category thinking that Interbox wouldn't take him otherwise, but he was struggling at that weight and it was making him sick. Then I think he overtrained, he fell sick and burned out, and ever since he got sick he hasn't been able to train because he is always tired. He has a family and he needs to provide for them, so he works and he doesn't have time to go back to the gym.

I like the guy, but I don't think he'll fight again.

I recall a Canadian poster saying that Cote was suffering from mental issues and that was the reason for his inactivity. This was around the time he was scheduled to fight Ali Chebah in the co-feature to Brute-Grachev.

But who knows, I'd like to see some information from a reputable source to find out exactly what happened with him. Dude was really fun to watch.

I am from Quebec city and he said it himself in the local news that he has some sort of disease that makes his body overheat.

    It's a shame.

Probably his career is over. Hopefully Pier Olivier can earn good money elsewhere, he was a spectacular prospect.

He is very fat now. I barely recognized him. Côté was a serious prospect. He began boxing very late and had tons of talent. It's over now. First, they were saying he overtrained but he seems to have a strange and rare illness. He was the future of Quebec boxing (I've always put him before Lemieux). Damn.

Really sad...He was one of my favorite prospects...I heard he also said he had digestive problems...I personally know it could be very problematic since I have digestive problems for years and it drains a huge part of your energy...
