The PPV can be bought off of numerous platforms. I guess that is the reason why it takes a while to collect all the data. But i find it ridiculous that it takes over a week.
Yeah, I mean, if they can typically tabulate numbers on a national election in a night, why the heck can't they compute the number of people who purchase a boxing PPV?
You would think it would tally buys as they are bought anyway, can't be that difficult to set a system up to say how many a bought from where and then add them together. In fact it could be done easily and within an hour.
The rematch would be 2-3 times bigger. Fury needs to get to Joshua before Wilder does. Its a more winnable fight for him and if he does win it gives him MASSIVE bargaining power for any further fights.
They know the numbers. We live in a digital age. It’s not like they’re counting slips. There will literally be a digital number of purchases/views that are instantly accessible to the relevant parties.
Unfortunately it doesn't work like that, when they say a TV show has a certain number of viewers it's not a true figure it's an approximation based on a small sample group which they monitor and then scale up the numbers. They don't have a real system in place to monitor the true number, which seems crazy in this day and age but if there's no real financial incentive to create a more accurate system they won't bother to do so. So when it comes to PPV they probably literally wait until the payments clear to figure out how many purchases were made, wait until every platform has reported those figures back to the network and then they come up with a number for the PPV buys.
