Recently i think someone posted that Rafa Marquez's condition was not exactly steller. Something about his punch resistance and him being constantly groggy after taking a shot. Now, i realise he is due to fight Mauricio Martinez on the 23.05.09 however, i do not wish to tune in if he is less then 100% as he is one of my fighters i love to watch. Any news people????

The last I heard of him was about a month ago and he was getting dizzy during training..

I think he's supposed to fight Mauricio martinez next.

I heard that too. Was deeply saddened, next i hear he's fighting!! WTF.

Oh by the way, when you say 'Marquez No.1' surely u mean the more talented Marquez, Rafa.

Yeah. He is a rare fighter in the sense he can do almost anything and his K.o rate at 118 is legendary.

If all these reports are true then maybe it's about time Rafa retires before he gets seriously hurt in the ring. He's always had a shaky chin to begin with and having gone through those three brutal bouts with Izzy where he was knocked down in every single bout and also TKOed, not to mention the fact that he's been stopped in 3 other bouts... I think it would be better for him to bail out before it's too late.

Man I hope he does retire now, as much as I do want to see a Vazquez Marquez IV, but he can go down in history as a great and be healthy with it. But I have heard reports that both he and Vazquez have retired??

ROFL what an ignorant statement... The things coming out of his camp suggest he shouldn't be fighting at all. People with an increased risk of head trauma can still seem fit.
