I agree with you, it sounds like nonsense. I was insinuating that Warren made it up entirely as some sort of cheap dig at Haye, a man who he's spent plenty of time slagging off because he had the gall not to sign with him when he went pro.

Ah...sorry...I forgot about that bit; only problem with making it up is that he gave so few clues that would link Haye with the rumour that the whole rumour became pointless; on the other hand, if he had made it more specific and Haye would have become a suspect, he could have been sued for making liablous claims...

    ...so...it's probably a true event...involving a lesser Champ...:good

You're probably right. I don't think Haye would be sufficiently worried about it to sue for libel, though; he seems to have the edge in maturity on Frank.

I'm sure we can agree that Frank Warren's a complete tosspiece, regardless of who he was actually slagging off. Completely pointless thing to do.

...pointless especially since it only leads to useless speculation...he didn't give the slightest clue...:bart ...damn!:D

When Warren announced this, it was in a week where Haye would have been training and in America. I doubt he'd have been in a club.

Anyway, can't see guys like Woods/Haye getting sparked by a random, they'd both do serious damage in a street fight.

It will be one of the smaller fighters pissed off his head.

"All being equal?" as in the big guy is just as determined, pissed off and doesnt slap like a girl?
    NO WAY.
If hes a big goofy pacifist clown, its not equal.
If he can fight, the bantamweight goes down 9 out of 10.

No chance, I would of heard about that by now.

And whoever said it was probably Haye, what planet are you on?

And I doubt even Hamed was ever laid out. Some people believe anything.

It's pointless for us to speculate; there aren't any clues.

If someone has seen it or trusts someone who has seen it, then let that person tell us, but that's as far as we'll ever get to knowing...

If no one has seen it or no one wants to tell or no one trusts those who claim they've seen it, well, that's the end of it.

If we are ruling out Woods because of his size (It would take a brave man to have a go at Sheffield's man of steel in a club) then surely we can rule out the bigger, more imposing Haye who could probably kill you with a stare.

I'm not going to speculate who it could be - even Warren himself said it was a rumour. It could just be that.

When I first heard the story though it did remind me of something I read about Maccarinelli - apparently he was involved in an altercation with a doorman at a nightclub in Swansea a few years back and one of them was knocked out!

It was a stupid and pointless article... It really has nothing to do with boxing.

In any case...if we knew who it was, what would it prove?:huh

Nothing! If you want to prove yourself in boxing, you need to get into the ring, not try to spark boxers who are out relaxing and having a good time in the clubs...It's like me saying I know a guy who won a debate with Galloway whilst on the bus...who cares? Galloway certainly wouldn't have cared!
