You would expect for a comeback fight of a still highly regarded fighter like Klitschko, that there would be a little bit more info on how his training is going. There is no anticipation for this fight at all.

Anybody got any info about his training camp?

There are so many other great fights coming up that it would be a shame for there to be a lot of focus on this one.

Actually I'm surprised that the fight hasn't been delayed yet.
I still doubt the fight will take place as planned.

It would be nice to hear a bit more. Anyone know about the broadcasting for it, particularly with regards to the UK? I might subscribe if they put it on Setanta, for example.

" It's a pleasure to work with Vitali again. The upcoming fight will be a starting point of our return into a professional ring, and then to a championship fight. Last night we started our training. It didn't feel like it has been a long time. Everything is ready. I watched Vitali closely and I will tell you that he is ready to start with our training. I know that Vitali will not only honorably return into a ring, but also in a near future he will fight for the championship title." -Trainer Fritz Sdunek

Here's is a current photo. Vitali looks in shape and happy to be back.

I cant wait to see him finally in the ring again.

I think the lack of excitement for his return is because
    1. His opponent will be an easy fight for him. If it was against one of the top guys, especially Oleg it would be more exciting.

    2. With so many injuries and delays, people are taking a I'll see it when I believe it view and just waiting until hes actually in the ring before they get excited.

If he performs well in this fight and puts McCline away in a few rounds, then I expect there will be a lot of discussion of Vitali on the boards again.

This is not your typical comeback, nor is it your typical comeback opponet.

When Tyson came back, he picked Peter McNeeley:nono

When Foreman can back he picked some tomato can:nono

Vitali is picking a much tougher test. McCline is not a bad fighter. He has wins over Briggs, Whitaker, Grant, and Shuford. While McCline lost a close one to Brock, he floored Brock. McCline also lost a close split decsion match to Chris Bryd. He was getting the better of Valuev until his knee gave out on him.

My point is McCline has been very comeptive with top ten guys. He's not a joke like McNeeley. If Vitlai looks good vs McCline, then we can assume Vitali at the very least is better than the Valuev's, Byrd, and Brock of boxing because these guys had their hands full with McCline.

    No, we can't. :nono

    1. The fight against Valuev lasted 3 rounds. After 3 rounds Barrett was ahead on points against Valuev, we know the result.
    2. The Byrd fight took place years ago. Now McCline is an old man himself.
    3. We don't know if he's still hindered by his knee injury.
We can't say if McCline is Top15, Top25 or Top40 today.

Can you imagine the outcry from the haters if Vitali comeback against Taurus Sykes, Yankme Diaz, Rydell Booker or Danny Batchelder? :yep

McCline is still a better test than McNeely, Batchelder, Sykes or Diaz.

Sure. But I'd prefered a contender like Greenburg.
The perfect opponent would have been Byrd. If he can't get Lewis, why doesn't he face the other guy that beat him?

The only fighter who beat Vitali besides Lewis was Byrd. Neither will fight him now. Greenberg is a very shaky looking prospect. Have you seen him fight? He's a notch below McCLine.

Good post the double standards on the board are a joke. Vitali Klitschko is going to smash McCline.
