I'm curious how much of the purse Povetkin's team would receive if it goes to purse bid. 15-25%? Sounds like a career payday for Povetkin.

It would make it more intriguing at least if Sauerland were to win the purse bid and stage it in Moscow, though I doubt K2 lets that happen.

Sure hope the deal gets made cause I don't see many interesting fights out there for Wlad. Fury or Pulev would be good but they don't seem ready yet. Helenius and Solis would be good scalps. If not Sasha, then hopefully another big guy and not a smaller fighter like Boystov or Cunnningham.

6"6" athletic puncher, powerful stiff jab and destructive right hand and a masterclass boxer..
Whether you like it or not, he is an ATG who is dominating this era of heavyweights, and I also think he is more fun to watch than what most give him credit for

He's the (paper) WBA "regular" champ, so I believe that according to the rules would give him 40% or even 45% of the purse.
I could be wrong here, because those rules are quite tricky with those sanction bodies. In the worst case he gets at least 25% though.

I think with most organizations its 25% of the purse. Not sure what the WBA regular belt can command.

No way should 40-45% be right, not when Wlad is holding 3 major, 1 minor + Ring belts.

At best, Povetkin should get 25 as a mandatory challenger that goes to purse bid.

Either way, it's a career high payday.....and Povetkin has walked away before from it.

Yeah I think the ABC Orgs Mandatory purse splits are either 70/30 or 75/25

I know the WBC has some weird thing where certain Purse bids are 55/45 but can't remember the circumstances.

Feel bad for Wlad in this situation - he must look at those HW rankings and feel so uninspired. I mean yeah, it's money for old rope for him, but it can't be easy to motivate yourself 100% to train your arse off to beat some fat wobbly bellied **** who has no business being in the ring with you. As least with Povetkin the fight would generate some hype and public interest.

I suppose that's what being a champ is about though.

As much as they bring to the table. **** opponents with no title in a voluntary shot get I believe around $800k-1.2m USD. As an example, Mormeck brought French TV so he probably got more, don't know for sure though.

Adamek was a voluntary defense for Vitali and he got $5 million.

I don't think he thinks like that otherwise he wouldn't be a champion.
I think he realises he is knocking on the door of greatness and in a few years time he could be one of THE best evers.
