I'm hoping for Helenius personally, unless Adamek beats Vitali (unlikely). Of the top 10 current heavyweights rated by the ring outside of Vitali and Adamek, Haye, Chagev, Chambers and Arrebola have already been beaten by a bro. Povetin and Boystov are too small. And Dimitrenko is too ****. Which by process of elimination leaves Helenius who is tall and can crack so he's the most interesting option (but maybe too inexperienced and limited in terms of boxing ability at this stage).
Wlad should fight 6´7 245lbs hard hitting Wach.. Helenius wont go anywhere near Wlad.. Sauerland didn´t even want to make Peter vs Helenius an ibf eliminator. I suspect they´re going to feed Povetkin/Chagaev to Helenius than act like Helenius is a champion to give him a huge punsh him Scandinavia where hes going to become a big cash cow as long as he doesn´t fight Wlad. basicially the same what they did with Haye..
I wont bet on Helenius beating Povetkin personally. The guy is getting a lot of **** but he is still an Olympic champ that fought some good opposition and has a lot more experience in the fight game
I hope he's waiting on the Povetkin Chag winner. But they are fighting for the (ahem) *regular* WBA title, so I doubt that winner will fight Wlad. It'd screw up the pecking order fo the two WBA heavyweight titles. LOL What joke the *regular* title nonsense is. I think he'll fight Helenius or if not, someone hardly known, seeing as how his last fight was a unifying fight against another titleholder in Haye. Wlad, like all champions, is due one *Balboa* type unknown opponent, every now and then. And when the pickings are as limited as they are these days, its almost a certainty.
Potvetkin would be best. Chambers/ThompsonII would be OK Wach needs another quality win to rate the fight. Same for Pulev. Dimitrenko would be decent. Helenius is probably the 3rd best HW out there, but could bide his time until he is the best before taking on K2. That Rodriquez that just KOd Owen Beck seems to have the power and chin to move along in the division, but his can:quality ration is horrfic. Should he go on and beat a couple more rated guys, he could probably earn a shot soon as well. Welliver has been begging for a shot, and Arreola would be OK. There are plenty of fights to be made, just some need a bit more seasoning, and others a little more credibility.
Povetkin has a great amateur resume in numbers but the competition hes faced wasn´t actually that good.. hes basically all about heart and workrate and not really a good boxer imo. at least before Atlas started to take care of him who knows what he has left.. I suspect Lyakhovich could do some damage to Helenius´hype train as well but if Helenius happens to struggle much or lose to someone like that it´d just be a setback.. Wlad however rips hearts out and destroys careers..
one poster on scene posted that it looks like Arreola fight for sept 15 is cancelled, and he could be in talks with Wlad! dont know if its true
