I'm Canadian. I've given my 2 cents worth already. I originally scored it 115-112 Marquez. After rewatching it, I scored it 114-113 Marquez. It was a very close fight.

I think it's stupid for either Marquez or Pac fans to claim superiority on this one. They've fought twice and as far as I'm concerned have come up even both times. Marquez is the superior technician while Pac is the bigger puncher.

As for a debate about the three mexicans and manny, I really don't think there is much to choose between them. I believe in their primes that it would be a toss-up on any given night. You have to remember that Morales, Barrera and Marquez are all older than Pac and therefore Pac has had the advantage in their fights. Imagine if the 29 year old Pac that fought Marquez had to fight a 23 or 24 year old Morales, Barrera or Marquez. He'd be in pretty tough.

When I look back on this era, I'll remember 4 pretty damn good fighters where any one of them could have come away the victor on any given night, assuming they were fighting in their primes of course. All of this Pac is greater than so and so or Marquez wiped the floor with Pac is nonsense as far as I'm concerned - just rabid fans acting like homers.

 

im a white aussie and i gave that fight to pac-man. it was damn close, and at times i thought jmm would get into a rythmn and manage to win.

the knockdown and caution pac-man instilled into jmm at times through his power punching was more convincing than jmm's counterpunching.

also i think pac-man landed more jabs in the earlier rounds which gave him a solid lead, plus the knockdown meant that jmm in my eyes was behind and had to fight just to keep the fight close to even.

if pac-man hadn't used his jab often in the early rounds i think jmm would have won the fight.

i also think another reason so many mexicans are pissed off is the mental situation when a fighter does better than people expect, and therefore it looks more like he won a close fight. similar to how pavlik blew away taylor in the first fight, everyone therefore thought taylor did enough to win the rematch simply based on the subconcious fact that he performed way better than expected.

and finally i had it a draw, with the knock down edging it for pac-man. however i also wouldn't argue with pac-man getting a 115-113 scorecard either.

I liked how JMM fought. His plan was way superior to Pac's. However, I thought the fight was a draw. Manny won on points because of the KD. I also think he should get rid of Roach. That plan he cooked up for Pac wasn't worth ****. I feel sorry for JMM though, he would have taken it if it wasn't for the KD. I don't care to see the third fight. Let's move on.

 

Why do you hate the Chinese people? Did they do something to you? I read your old arguments with Pac fans where you call them Chinese names. It sure was not meant as an endearment.

 

Close fight I had it for JMM but I was also rooting for him. But it could've gone the other way too and it did. We had great fight and instead of appreciating the fight you have people debating if it was robbery. Pacman won by 1 point its not a robbery. It was great night for boxing even though the undercard was crappy
