Agreed it's definately not the same as the Mayweather fight. But seriously "p4p title" even you can't really believe that bull**** there are so many fighters ahead of Ricky. A win would elevate him but imo not to number one.

If he beats Pac and then Marquez we might be talking. But Ricky can't waste time if it is truly his dream to be p4p number 1, before long he will be in decline as much as I hate to see it this time next year I could see a Tim Bradley feasting on the shell of the Hitman.

Dream scenario Ricky beats Pac then Marquez later this year and then either retires or takes a gimme farewell fight in the UK (the overrated "I can't cope with good pressure fighters" Witter could fit the bill.

I think the problem is theres no bad guy no1 is ****-talking and Hatton has been beat and in my opinion Hatton is not as much of an underdog as he was with Mayweather

It's definitely not got people talking as much as thr PBF fight. It's not as if people are less interested in boxing as some I know are still talking about the Froch fight.

Think it's a mixture of having a more respectful and non American opponent, losing the unbeaten record against PBF, and all the **** that's around at the moment in the news.

Floyd is the best possible opponent Hatton could ever face in his whole career and both men were considered in their respective primes but this time its a case of one guy might be too small and/or the other guy might be too past it in the stamina dept (weight ballooning issues)

Hatton v PBF was a case of the best man will win with no excuses allowed but this time there are too many reasons why the result would perhaps not be what it could have been a couple of years ago. A bit like the Oscar v Pac fight in that we all know a prime Oscar would likely have stopped him in rnd 1

    simple, not the same coverage

some of these casual/non-casuals will believe anything you tell them if you say it enough times. This fight has not had the same coverage in the papers, radio and othe media outlets, i remember the fight week of hatton/mayweather there were back and front page pictures on the papers

don't buy the "hatton is defeated now" line, because hatton is even more famous and in the public eye now then ever

like i said its all down to the coverage and media hype for instance there's a program on the beeb called inside sport hosted by gabby logan and hatton/mayweather got a massive feature while pac/hatton hardly got a mension and sky haven't exactly put their promo muscle behind it with their shite promo's (check the one with only hatton in it and some trophies on a scale)

I agree with that, particularly when it's in America. In this fight no-one is the 'home' fighter so they can't hype that angle.

Most people would probably think that USA has still got the best boxers even though as anyone on here would know they've been in heavy decline compared to Central and Eastern Europe for years.

Dont think this fight needs any hype in the Philippenes, the whole ****in country comes to a standstill when pac fights. They even have military cease-fires ffs.
They media world tour with all the trash talk and stand up helped promote the Mayweather fight to the layman fans, and it was amazin how many were convinced that ricky could actually win. To me this is a much bigger fight as its 50/50. The whole boxing world is splitt on this one..... Hatton to win

When Hatton fought Mayweather it was a battle of undefeated fighters; we don't have that with either fighter this time.

Add to that the fact that there has been **** all trash talk to keep Joe Public entertained in the build-up, and you have your answer.

I remember when Hatton was fighting Mayweather... casual sport fans were claiming Hatton would knock out Mayweather with his bodyshots after seeing Hatton pounding away at the bodybag etc

I think now people don't have high expectations about Hatton after the loss against Mayweather.

Would he? Ricky is on a whole different level, didn't Ricky sell out a fight in the states the same night Witter struggled to fill the ally pally.

Bradley put pressure on Witter and he did indeed act like a "Junior" Hattons pressure would make him **** his pants ( note if the fight happens avoid the first two rows.)

Hatton would destoy him, if Ricky's kind he knocks him out within 6. If he decides to punish him for the trash talk Witter will be finished as a fighter and in pain for good while

    :deal

Damn right. David will slay the giant. And then he'll slay the second giant who is pissed off the first giant was knocked out with ease, however this time David will has his fun and win a shutout (there is no way old vitali can keep up with haye, and there is no way Wlad beats Haye.)

"Your winner and new Heavyweight Champion of the World David "The Hayemaker Haye."
