As it says , Do any of these listed, at their best, stand a chance at beating Marvin, at his best?

    Michael Nunn
    Mike McCallum
    James Toney
    Roy Jones Jr
    Bernard Hopkins

All different styles and flavors to bring to the fight but to beat MMH..?

I think all but Nunn are capable of beating Hagler. But would they? I seriously doubt it. Jones is the only one I think is pretty likely to beat Hagler. However, McCallum, Toney, and Hopkins could still give Hagler some of his toughest battles.

2 of them are really L-HWs fighting DOWN

Toney and Hagler would be a great fight

    Jones is a L-HW too

BHop also a L-HW and overhyped.

I could picture any of them beating them, whether or not they would is another story. Picking one, I would favor Hopkins to beat him.

I don't think any beat him, but I'd give Jones and Hopkins reasonable shouts. Can't see McCallum, Toney or Nunn doing it vs a prime Hagler.

This myth about Hopkins being a LHW needs to go away. On fight night, HBO weighed him in at 166lbs. Mike McCallum was a bigger weight 'bully', he was around 170.

Prime for prime, the overrated Hopkins either gets stopped in 8 or pulls a Robert Allen when he realizes he is outgunned. I would take Baaad Benny and Monroe over Hopkins prime for prime any day.

Hopkins weighed 157 for Mercado at age 29. He weighed 156 for DLH at age 39. He routinely weighed in well under 160 by todays standards. GTFO of here with that bull****. Calling him a LHW and overhyped coming from a guy who spends 95% of his time trying to convince people his mediocre grandfather was an all time great and whining that he wasnt allowed to outweigh Cerdan by more than the 12 pound weight advantage he benefitted from when Cerdan knocked him out is comical.

I'm tallking Stature, these boys are L-HWs,

they could never have fought at MW in times gone by, 'most' fighters fought in & around their natural weight. You know that better than anyone.

their Big Tall Strong guys, I could careless what they weigh, when they've got 4 Months to do so.

Jones stands a chance but I wouldn't pick him to beat Hagler. I'd bet that Hagler would smash him to bits. Everyone else solidly gets beat.

I think RJJ or Bhop COULD score decision wins over a prime Hagler under the right circumstances. I think RJJ at his prime could possibly outmaneuver Hagler to a close MD or SD. With Hopkins I honestly think the best Hopkins for Hagler is actually a little older and more experienced, who could maybe score a very ugly and possibly controversial win over Hagler.

I don't think either is a betting favorite though.

6 people actually voted for Hopkins ... Lol

Hopkins has become increasingly overrated in the past few years ... Hagler would abuse Hopkins

I have to go with Roy Jones Jr by decision. Marvelous Marvin Hagler is a great champion cut his weakness throughout his career is a fighter that can box. and has stamina Jones does have speed and the ability to box, firing combinations from different angles. I see a good fight but Roy takes it on points.

The peak James Toney is a great match here. Both men are very old school with their skills, feints, slips, balance and excellent footwork. Toney certainly could give Marvin a fight.
Jones at his peak was a ridiculous talent but was never really a Middleweight. Hopkins and Nunn would just run for their lives and McCallum was a Light Middle. He couldn't have got past 4 with the Hagler that dismantled Tony Sibson.

Hopkins and Jones would be a decent show for mine.

I don't think Toney could beat him but for some reason i'd love to see that fight.
