not really, it is alright when they stand up and fight, it is exciting, the ground stuff is flat out boring.
I like it....more as a voyeruism than anything else, dont really get the urge to know any of competitors and enjoy it more as a freak show. Watched an Aussie tornament on fox last week and there was a big Islander who knocked out the other dude convincingly and when the ref stopped it instead of the usual jubilant celebrations he tried a couple of times (and connected atleast once) to stomp the unconsciuos guys head...fight was totally over.....pretty low stuff. Over all I like it.
I watch the big fights. Anderson Silva and Fedor Emanlianko are both sensational. Even boxing fans who hate MMA should appreciate these two fighters.
Love it. Does anyone know if the next strikeforce (emelianenko vs rogers) is going to be televised in Australia?
Watch some fights of a prime Wanderlai Silva & you can't help but be a fan of his style. Pure fighting machine. Same goes for prime versions of Mirko Crocop - that high head kick sent many a reeling. Don't go much on the ground wrestling match ups though. Fedor is another that brings excitement everytime he fights. I think he'd rip Lesnar's head off.
Tend to agree....when they go to ground I start flicking through the channels.....but lots of KO's so its not bad.
My gut feeling is MMA will replace boxing eventually.Nearly anythings allowed and that's why you have many KO, the gloves have less padding too. It's a sport that's on the up and boxing is going down. I like it.Boxing is boring specially today 12 rounds of boring runners.MMA needs to tidy up the excessive ground humping it has a bright future. But Boxers can beat MMA'ers..
A good flik is the 'Smashing Machine', a doco about Mark Kerr. Has a fair bit about Mark Coleman and Bas Rutten too. Very good if you're into any kind of fighting.
That was sensational....I get into all sorts of doco's and this one was right up there...brilliant. If anyone hasn't seen it find it and watch it, a must for any fight fan.
