i couldn't help but feel bad seeing a former great champ fighting on because he needs the money, quitting on his stool against someone that wouldn't even be a sparring partner when castillo was in his prime. can't believe just a few short years ago, he gave us one of the greatest fights in history. no doubt he left a lot of himself in the ring that night.

Well it's boxing this sport is cruel and disposes of former greats in a bad manner. Look at what happened to Leonard, Tyson, Ali, Jones, and Chavez.

I hated it as well it was sad to see JLC reduced to looking like a shell of his former self. It's a shame that a great champ and warrior like JLC had to end his career like that.

Hated it a lot. If you notice at the stare down Castillo actually looked scared while Gomez was putting on the most pathetic tough guy look I have ever seen, a look that would instantly remind you of the chain jab knockdowns and jab KO Cotto unleashed on his tomato can ass.

Terrible decision to continue fighting at this stage, he's better off out completely and I hope he NEVER thinks about returning again.

it shows what boxing does to aging fighters,5 years ago he had 10 of the greatest rounds ever against chico who could punch with both hands & never looked in trouble until the last 15 seconds & last night he couldnt do 6 rounds against gomez who is a decent fighter but nowhere near elite & cant punch.at least hes left us some unforgettable memories,i hope he enjoys his retirement.

Gomez has now beaten two legends,Gatti and Castillo, but he didnt beat the real Gatti and Castillo, sad to see Castillo go out like that but he should have called it a day after the Hatton fight..

i hope he really means it when he says he will retire. i don't know what kind of money trouble he's having, but it's not worth his health.

The man could barely stand up his legs were so far gone. It's a shame it had to end that way, but not surprising. Good luck to the old warrior in his life after boxing...
