Don't forget Floyds best work came at 135, he's hardly a natural welter and could make 140.

Why is it ****ing stupid? Because its achievable for Pac and not for RJJ? PBF is the lineal 147 champ, an ATG and a p4p #1, undefeated and is in the running's for the best fighter of the decade. You wanna look up the other guys who's won that accolade? Pac beating a man of that stature 5 ORIGINAL weight divisions above his first title is incredible...unachievable for any other fighter. Floyd is considered the best Welter today, as Wlad or Lewis was considered the best HW in their days...except both Floyd & Lewis are both ATG's so I used Lewis instead of Wlad.

 

How is Floyd the lineal champ at 147?

It would be a great win for Pac, but nothing like RJJ beating Lennox in my opinion, if RJJ went to heavyweight Lennox would to sooooo much bigger it would be embarrasing. Pac was the same size as Hatton in their fight so the differance between him and PBF wouldn't be all that. Saying this, of course it would be a great great win, regardless if its comparable to RJJ vs LL

 

Pac has fought at 147 before but it doesn't change the fact that he won his first championship at flyweight. Thats like RJJ fighting LL after he beat Ruiz...because he's fought at HW before.

Would Finito Lopez beating Chavez at 140-147lb be a better comparison then? When Chavez was p4p #1 obviously. That would still be an absolutely amazing feat...I cant think of any fighter in history going up 5 original weight divisions to beat the lineal champ who is an ATG, contention for best fighter of his generation and top 3 p4p at the time. Can you?

Floyd is Lineal because he beat Baldomir & Judah & Judah was Lineal after he unified and beat Spinks if I'm correct. Could be wrong.

Yeah 3 years ago when Floyd was 29 still fighting regularly, and Mosley was even less past his prime then he is now. Not too mention Roach has already stated that the only way he would fight Floyd if he moves down to 142, and the only way he'll fight Mosley if he's a weight drained zombie on the night of the fight.

Floyd started his career at superfeatherweight, he's only 2 inches taller then Pac and even when Pac fought at lightweight and Floyd fought at welter Floyd barely outweighed PAc on fight night.

Lennox was a 6'5 240lb heavyweight. What did Roy Jones weigh when he fought Ruiz? 193? No comparison.

 

Sorry the only way Pacquiao gets top 5 ATG, is if vast majority of historians are *******s like yourself.

atsch i really like the pacman, but you can't compare him yet to the fighter regarded as the best middleweight of all time. hagler had reigned supreme for years in the same division and beat atg's hearns and a comebacking duran and finally lost a questionable fight when he was past his prime to the great srl. i'm sorry but barrera and morales are not top 20 like duran and hearns and even if manny beat floyd that should make him top 30, but he still needs to finish business with jmm, then he may be top 20 or even higher in the atg's list

 

a bunch of historians is already comparing him to guys that are in the top 20. Im objective, I say hes not there yet 30-40, a little ahead of Floyd.

Now if he beats 3 bigger HOF (2 ATG is Floyd and Shane) Then there wil be alot of historians, journalists, sportwriters you can email to voice your complaint when hes Top 5

 

Ok, put it this way, if he beats Floyd, Cotto AND Mosley at 147, not making them move down in weight, then you could have a case for top 5 P4P. But I doubt any boxing historian will have him top 5. Roy Jones went from middleweight to heavyweight, beating guys like prime Hopkins and prime Toney, 2 guys that are better then any name on Pacquaio's list and he's not even top 15 on most peoples list. It takes alot to get the top 10 guys to budge. They are almost in stone.

 

Roy also suffered from a long sting of mediocre opponents. Is it his fault? Nope...but they were still mediocre. Any fighter today hoping to make it in the top ten ATG has a SHITLOAD of work to do. But it's almost a pipe dream for anyone.

Jones beat younger Hopkins, not PRIME Hopkins. I doubt anyone would say that version was the best he's been. Same w/ Toney. Again, it's not Jones fault about those guys, but they are who they are.
