Right a poster who only supports white fighters cryign racism

Its called putting wins in perspective, 11-0 against ranked opposition is very good, but the other 40 or so stiffs, are we really counting them?

Foreman had already more fights than Joe Frazier did when he beat Ali and Foreman was fighting these guys

In his 30th fight he fought Oliie Wilson-20-40-1
In his 32nd fight he fought Joe Murphy Goodwin - 1-14-1
In Foremans 28th fight he fought Vic Scott 1-2-0
In GF's 26 fight he fought Stanford Harris - 14-23-2
In his 33 fight he fought Clarence Boone 3-21-1
Foreman was 34-0 when he fought Ted Gullick 15-5-1
Foreman was 36-0 when he fought Terry Sorell 4-16-0
GF was 29-0 when he fought Leroy Cadwell 11-8-1

These are the type of fighters you fight in your 1st fight and this is just a few. Foreman had one of the most padded records that I can remember. He did fight Peralta (Not impressive, Chuvalo( impressive) and Boone Kirkman ? and those are the best names until Frazier

Marciano fought some cans also in all fairness. His 35th bout was against 11-14 Willis Applegate, whom he went the distance with in a tough fight. The fight before that he had fought 11-13 Art Henri, and before that 3-13 tomato can Art Henri.

His 40th fight was against 24-14 Gino Buonvino.

I think Peralta was a very fine fighter and I think he needed that fight, considering these other yahoos you're listing.

Standout Heavyweight Champion's Career Record Against top 5 Ring Ranked opponents:

    Muhammad Ali 20-2

    Rocky Maricano 10-0

    Lennox Lewis 8-0-1
    Floyd Patterson 8-6-1
    Evander Holyfield 8-7-1
    Mike Tyson 6-3
    George Foreman 5-3
    Larry Holmes 5-5
    Wladimir Klitschko 4-0

The numbers don't tell the whole story but they certainly don't lie either. Maricano's level of competition and relative success stands up very well against the best from 50-00s.

I feel like that one number lies like a rug...a rug that's talking to Mariska Hargitay on L&O SVU, saying he never touched that poor old woman like that. You know what I'm saying. Don't act like you don't.

Regardless of what the biased American media claims it was counted as a win for Valuev, I don't see the problem. :)

Still, even if Holyfiled retired after Lewis..he wouldn't have caught Rocky in the top 5 win column. You would have to take away his big win over Rahman as well. It certainly puts the accomplishments of Ali and Maricano in perspective.

Interesting what year do the ring ranking kick in?

Lennox's record doesn't look right, I'm sure he beat more than 8ranked opponents, then there is the 2 losses and the draw, not just 1. Its also hard to believe Holmes only beat 5 ranked opponents in all his years at the top...as is Wlad's

It's top 5 ranked. Marciano to his credit only fought the very best contenders around, even if he didn't fight as many as some others.

What does this record look like without the exile and the hernia before Liston II?:think (Ali was on page to defend at least six times in 1967, 1968, and maybe 1969 and 1970.)

Joe Louis is 16-3 by my count. And he lost about 4 years to WW II. All things considered, him and Ali are pretty close. Really in a league of their own.

I haven't counted in a while but north of 175, Walcott and Charles are up there as well..close to Lewis, Patterson, and Holyfield at least.

Moore and Quarry are also up there despite never winning a title.

yeah true Bummy - to be honest though until guys are getting close to a title shot they are fighting pretty awful competition - Tyson did, Ali did - hell one of Ali's opponents Slim Jim Robinson actually weighed about 156 and came into the fight with a broken nose which hadn't he'll - Lamar Clark also came in with a broken nose from the day before!!!! What a sham  Marciano fought lots a tomato cans too - they all did in reality - in Foreman's case and Marciano's - probably their own trainers thought them still so crude and unpolished that they really were a work in progress all the way through their careers - Goldman for one described The Rock as incredibly crude, didn't stand right, didn't throw a punch right, didn't do anything right until fairly late into his career maybe the Rex Layne fight onwards Rock started to find his feet
