In response to the latest thread by DINAMITA, are there any posters on Eastside Boxing who genuinely believe Juan Manuel Marquez will defeat Floyd Mayweather Jr?

    If so, why?

I do, he has the punch's needed to ='s Floyd's shoulder roll & Tuck/bend move.
    (Dual uppercut's & body work)

Floyd would be best pressed to throw as many left hooks as possible..
    (JMM's Kryptonite)

Boxing has proven to us all in 2009 alone that anything can happen, and the odds do not determine the result of any fight. That said, I have a hard time seeing how Juan Manuel Marquez can outpoint a much bigger and superior boxer, or stop a defensive virtuoso with a very good beard.

although marquez really won, he had trouble with the slickness of chris john, a fighter smaller than him. he will have trouble with the uber-slickness of mayweather, a big fighter who has power to hurt him

Would I bet on that outcome? Not a chance.

    Could I see it happening?

    Of course I can.

A fighter, best p4p in the world, coming off a long break with no real tune up to take on a top flight albeit smaller fighter - Its not impossible.

plus, we don't know if marquez would be slower and a bit round in the belly at 144 lbs

    The posibility is very slim.

Skill wise yes . . . JMM being a very accurate counter punhcer . . . has the skills to dissect PBF.

But the problem is . . . the fight is not on even grounds . . . JMM has to add as much as 10 lbs while PBF has to shed off only 2 to 3 lbs on weigh in day. Isn't that a factor?

    PBF's reach is 72"; JMM's is 67" . . .

even if you consider skills as even . . . PBF will always have the upper hand. :deal

Dont really see how 09 has proven anything can happen.

I met you through arguing with Dinamita i was saying Ricky was a pathetic fight for Manny, i was so angry at this fight.

I think i influenced you mate, you seemed to accept not only Rickt would lose, but JMM was P4P no.1

Where you been? Your not online?

I do, why not. The guy knows when to mix it up. I am not saying he will definitely win, but rather he has a chance at winning.

Nobody except Pinoys gave Pac a chance against Barrera at first. And we all know what happened there.

After seeing the Pacman/Hatton fight. I'm convinced the only fighter that gave Pacman the most challenge will beat Floyd.

    Marquez TKO in Rd 4.

Mayweather will try to best PacMan's Rd 2 TKO againts Hatton and will abondone the old hit and run.

Mark my Words Marquez is the real deal and will be labeled as the PBF vs PACMAN party spoiler.

Then it will be Pacman vs Cotto @ 147.
