Any posters here genuinely believe Marquez can beat Floyd?

i beleive marquez has lost some speed along the way but, if he is the same fighter that fought pac 2, casamayor, and diaz and has not aroded because he is at that age, i give him a good chance, the man is truly a great fighter, yes i can see him defeating mayweather, the man just koed casaymoyor and juan diaz and fought on conpletly even terms with the great manny pacquo, yea i genueanly beleive he has a chance

Nacho is defenitely a great trainer, but it was'nt about Roach figuring out Nacho......
....it was ultimately about the fighters themselves making spur of the moment adjustments.....and in that sense, JMM thoroughly outdid Pac.

Nacho's words....."Juan Manuel Marquez is an elitely skilled decipherer of styles."

Nacho did not say that he (Nacho) is the decipherer of styles.....he said that JMM does the deciphering in the ring.

A far cry from Freddie Roach who likes to point out that it was he who had Manny working at counteracting a fighters weaknesses in the gym.

I know you like for me to be brief Chimba......but my point is that more than figuring out Nacho, there is no way that Roach can prepare Pac to mentally compete with the skillset of JMM who is always putting wrinkles in the way he adjusts to situations that arise.

Ultimately when there are two highly skilled gifted fighers in the ring, its the fighters themselves who have to have the capability of seeing and making the adjustments on their own.
A trainer can definitely help, but like a quarteback in football, the coach calls the plays, but the quarteback has to recognize when a defense shifts its formations and be prepared to audibleize.

Nah, the kids gonna get whooped. It might take Mayweather a few rounds to shake off the rust, after that I don't see much joy for JMM. What is he going to do to win? His usual counterpunching is not gonna get off by the time he's put on 10lbs, against a guy with all the physical advantages that is also a natural counterpuncher. Look how he struggled with a fellow cagey fighter, Chris John.

If he wants to try and be aggressive he's moving away from his own game, and playing into Mayweather's hands. The only thing I can see working for him is using a consistent jab. That could cause Mayweather problems.

I think Marquez might be able to pull it off. Although I haven't made any official prediction yet. I mean they're both great fighters and the only real advantage Floyd has on JMM is size.. and over the past few years I've come to the conclusion that size really doesn't matter all that much when you're at the highest level of the sport. It's more likely that this fight will come down to who the smarter fighter is with the better gameplan.
