ridiculous, it helps every fight, Why do you say it didn't help? because of dismal ppv #'s? well without it they would have been worse.

Calzaghe vs. Jones did a little over 200k. How could it get much worse than that?

There was similar speculation after the Mayweather/Marquez fight that it was going to be a PPV bomb and it was far from that.

I don't believe this 400-600k talk. Pacquiao is the biggest fighter in the sport right now; 800K will be easy despite the shitty job by Top Rank.

I hope it does well- just to aid in the negotiations with floyd. goes to show- the MORE leverage you have against floyd- the easier it will be to get made.

I'm sure these same Mexicans will say they ordered it for Castillo and only that. They did the same when Marquez fought Mayweather remember?, the said they ordered for Marquez yet didn't show the same loyalty towards Marquez in PPV orders when Marquez was fighting a certain "Mexicutioner" called Pacquiao in a rematch desperately awaited. Weird isn't it. El Cockroacho.

It was boring as ****, I tried watching it and don't think I even made it to the end of the first episode.

Calzaghe and his father are boring, insular, dumb UK types, and Jones Jnr has pugilistic dementia and no doubt does with his dogs what Michael Vick did, who wants to watch any of that ****.

JMM was the best mexican fighter at the time, there are 30mil mexicans in the US. On top of that, the promotion for the fight was pretty well done, I mean the **** drinking thing alone got people talking about the fight. The hardcore fans knew it was a mismatch, but the casual fans saw it as comeback for former p4p #1 vs p4p #2. Clottey had 0 selling point other than a get busy fight for Pac.

24/7 does not guarantee a good PPV number at all. Yeah its a 4 week advert but it doesn’t mean people will buy the PPV off the back of it. As somebody said Calzaghe v Jones was a flop because nobody gave a damn about that fight. 24/7 or not it wasn’t a fight that people were interested in.

I’m surprised so many people seem to think this would do 850,000 +. Not many PPV’s sell that much and I really couldn’t see Pacquiao v Clottey doing those kind of numbers. Pacquiao is a ‘star’ but he was fighting a guy that nobody gave a damn about and a guy nobody thought could win the fight. It does not matter that the #1 P4P fighter was in the ring. The casual viewer aint paying $60 to watch a non contest on paper.

    -- Unknown Clottey
-- No Marketing, they focus more on the gates
    -- Shitty undercard
    -- No 24/7

Only one fighter driving the fight - Manny Pacquiao. I'd say around 700k buys only.

My source is good definitely connected... the main event was not worthy of a ppv. Boxing after dark at best.

the range expected is about 400 to 600 thousand 760 was the most optimistic projection
