I dont know what is more unlikely ronnie corbett ordering underworld characters to break a world champions hands or ronnie corbett having a bit on the side that could be in contehs league?

If LITTLE corbett could pull that kind of crumpet anything is posible!

    You beat me too it:lol:

It was actually Bruce Forsyth's missis Anthea Redfern that he was allegedly ****ing around with & the hand break job was'nt done in the roller prang as reported, he had his hand put in the car door then had it slammed on it. Well sort of roller prang but not the car crash. He was the toast of all the London celeb set at the time & invited to all the showbiz gatherings & what with Brucie being the country's top TV entertainer & Anthea Redfern was a hostess on Brucie's show The Generation Game.

My old man who had a bistro drinking den in Chiswick/West London in the mid/later part of the 70's told me this is what happened. Bruce Forsyth/Tommy Cooper & Co always ate & drank at my dad's place. It was a basement job that sat about 40/50 & very private, no scum ever got in, my old man wanted to fleece the names & guaranteed anonimity:D

I was 20/21 at the time & the cheap forced labour waiting table & i heard my old man gossiping & laughing about it at the bar with his cronies as Bruce Forsyth & his missis Anthea where in that night with the mates after a show having a late meal & drink & i asked my old man the next day about Conteh & he said that the fellers he was yapping with the night before were the ones that done it, some firm from Queensway/Shepherds Bush. It's a long time ago, i was obviously all wide eyed & impressionable at that age being in the presence of the TV stars of the day & proberbly my old man was geeing me up being the greenhorn that i was, but i don't think he was on this issue seeing the close proximity he was in with Brucie & Co. But it's all hearsay i suppose but thats what i know of it.

Yeh see it's this, John was the ENTERTAINMENT for these people, he was allowed/invited to mix with them, make then laugh ect ect but he was not one of them or ever be allowed to be, once the next pretty face took their interest then he'd be out of favour & frozen out, such is the way with these celeb circles & once there bored of you then you're dropped & you deff don't go shagging the wives of these people regardless of the temtation from these slags without getting some serious retribution dished out to you in one form or other.

Id imagine so. No good, from their perspective, doing it when he wasnt boxing. I dont want to hi-jack the thread but what did you hear concerning this?

    I doubt that very much:nono

Anyone who's a public figure or holds a position of note in any field or avenue will always have someone who's best interests are in looking out/protecting said person in questions best interests. There are there to have a discreet word in the perceived offending ear & expect them to take heed & if they don't tone it down or **** off then something will be done to ensure the problem is nullified.

Well thats the story i know from my late father & i'am prone to go with that seeing that he was in close proximity & on good terms with Brucie & his cohorts but i'am not privy or would have been to anything else in regard to this matter seeing i was just the delinquent tear-ass son sent out to serve the customers so keeping me away from the bar & glagging all my old mans profits.

I droped a whole salver of garden peas straight into Anthea Redferns lap on my 1st occasion on seeing her, i died 20 million ****in deaths, i wanted to just run up the stairs & run all the way back to southampton such was my terror & embarrasment. I was meant to be "Silver Service" but obviousley i did'nt have a clue & as i was leaning over her shoulder i just could'nt stop staring down at the fantastic pair of tits she had & next thing the whole lot landed in her lap. Lucky she had a serviette on her lap, as i said, i died a million deaths & froze up, but Brucie just roared with laughter along with the rest of them, obviousley they knew i was just a nervous nipper in some sense & my old man came over & said "This one fell on his head when his mum dropped him" Like a **** i actually tried to put the peas back onto her plate which had landed in her lap much to there amusment. My old man said the usual jokes about Manuel from Faulty Towers as i fled the scene of my humiliation:lol:

Brucie called me over when they were leaving & gave me a £20 tip which was absolute mega money for me back then & put his arm around me & said to everyone that i was a great lad & thanked me for all my efforts ect & told my old man not to be so hard on me & all laughing away while i was as red as a coke tin & mute with embarresment. But i could'nt take my eyes of Anthea's tits & she knew it:lol:

My old man's joint was called the 007 on Chiswick High road opposite the Packhorse & Talbot boozer, subteranian bistro & then from 2am till 9am a private gambling club for the select & selected mugs:smoke:D

Fair play to Brucie with the £20, im sure it was always nice to see him after that.

The only 007 club ive ever came into contact with was one in Limassol when we were pre-warned by our bosses not to go to as we 'may be apprached by prostitutes selling sex and/or drugs.

I encountered him once back in the early 80's in a pub in Fulham.

His favorite pub performance was waiting for a bloke & his bird to come into the boozer & wait till the bloke went for a slash, then he'd walk up to the bird start chatting to her & then say something like "Yer fellers beer looks a bit flat love" he'd then get his horses **** out & stick it into the bloke's pint & wank it around much to the hilarity of his crew & hanger's on, then go back to his mates & wait to see the responce when the bloke came back from the bogs.

Would she tell her feller? or let him drink his wanked about beer? so as to save him from a hammering at the hands of Bindon. I watched him do this one night when i was in the Pelican in Fulham. She said **** all to him & he glagged his ale unaware while one side of the pub was roaring it's balls off. A proper ****:smoke

    just met john,
he was as good as ever. I asked him what he thought of Mickey duff and he said "great man, great at what he did, the business side of things him , Jarvis, Levine and Solomon’s were the best at what they did, I went my way but I didn’t understand the finer points and they had done a great job for me." in a round about way I would conclude that he regretted leaving them and going alone.

he said Mathew sad Muhammad was the best boxer he fought "forget 1980". Chris Finnegan was a strong clever boxer, he rated him. Admitted using his head. he joked that the last time he met Chris At a function “I nodded from across the room and he ducked!”

loves Carl froch. fancies haye to beat klit because he has longer arms and is taller than Brewster. Recons packman will beat mayweather because he is more active. Even though he says "8 times out of 10 a great boxer beats a fighter because a great boxer can fight and box".
still says heavyweights is where its at. he would rather watch lions fight lions than leopards fight leopards and cheetahs fight cheetahs. says American heavyweights are moving into other sports and have made room for eastern Europeans for now but they will come back.

he always says "when I started I wanted to be amateur fit, then professional fit then 10 round fit then 15 round fit, when I got knocked down I wanted to get up and straight back in but later on when I was knocked down I used to think its not too bad down here is it!"

conteh makes light of what he achieved, appears somewhat bitter sweet about his career but likes to entertain and joke along about current events. always fun. he watches you tube a lot. sometimes he watches his fights but mostly music from his lifetime..

:good:yep Brilliant night yer had mate, Conteh was the icon when i was growing up, had it all, i love that quote about Lions/Leopards & Cheeters:lol:

Great champion fighting in an era that was tough, yeh it's easy to look back on his career & he feels bitter sweet about it, but thats life in the sense he ai'nt the 1st & he ai'nt going to be the last that was seduced by the bright lights of london as was the expression back then. When yer young, good looks & plenty of ££££ to throw around then you'll always attract the flatteres & decievers to yer banner who'll put temptation in yer way.

What happended to his acting career? I recall he was at rada or something similar a few years back, did he go into that at all?
