Didn't watch the post-fight presser so dunno what went there, but it was strange watching the HBO post-fights where Martinez, dominating for 11,5 rounds gave Jr. a lot of credit for heart, fightback, power and fan support, but did not hear Chavez returning with positives. "I was 20 seconds away from the knockdown" so he kept repeating, and you can't be too hard on the kid suffering his 1st loss by that wide a margin, but... some nice words would've been cool on air, Martinez was 60 seconds away from absolutely schoolage. Hey it's all cool, he has pride and a fighting spirit, good luck for him in the future (this for the trolls surely thingking I'm 'hating'), I just wanna hear what comments did he leave on the fight and Martinez' dominating win.
He didnt give Martinez his props. Martinez talked smack prefight but was a true gentleman after the fight. Both fighters showed great heart in the ring though.
Nah man it was despicable. In the post fight interviews, Sergio gave props to Chavez, stated he fought a good fight and was better in there than he expected. He gave his run down on what happened in the 12th rd when he was knocked down. Gave praise and thanked all the Mexican fans, Argentinians, Latinos etc. When asked if he would give Jr a rematch, he stated of course, he is ready to do it again and that both men would be well prepared to give the fans another great fight. Chavez jr on the other hand, basically said, he couldn't get him out of there because he Sergio was running all night and that he was holding in the 12th so he just didnt have enough time to get him out of there. No Credit to Martinez whatsoever. And to add insult to injury, he said he would knock out Martinez in a rematch lol. edit, just realized you were talking about the post fight presser obviously you watched the post fight interview.
Yeah, didn't catch the presser. Hopefully there was a better spirit by Jr. there. His HBO post fight was underwhelming.
