Any update on Dmitry Pirog?

    He hasn't fought since, I dunno, early 2012??. Out with ruptured spine disc.
    Has he had surgery? Is he finished? Is he in training for a fight? Why so little news?
    Amazing the last of info available on this guy, given he Is/was such a sensational prospect.

    Can anybody enlighten me please?

    Isn't it amazing that in this day and age NO information is available? Ok the guy lives in Russia, not London or New York, but with the whole global village thing, the internet etc you would think that surely SOME information would be available.....so once again ...does anybody know anything about the amazing disappearing Dmitry???

    Nothing really - it was reported that he was fit enough to get back in training a few months back, but whether he has or not - who knows?

    He seems to comment on fights in the Russian media from time to time - he was scathing of Klischko - Povetkin, but about himself nada.

    Even here in Russia I haven't heard anything about this guy in months, not even on the best Russian boxing website. Youtube also has no recent info. The latest Russian news on youtube is from last summer where they say that he is getting ready to return to the ring in autumn, and there's an interview where Pirog says that the title isn't important and other useless talk.

    Of course autumn has come and gone so I suppose he's having difficulty coming to an agreement with the promotor in America. The injuries healed many months ago, so he'll almost certainly be back in 2014.
