The controversial stuff is stem cell research using embryos and that is mainly in the US with God botherers. Think Dubya cut funding to it. We're pretty chilled about it in the UK.
There's nothing controversial about it really in Europe where people are more scientifically minded and less clouded by religion. US needs to exist the 19th century already.
All I know is, I'm still grateful for the entertainment Paul gave me and boxing fans everywhere and I'll always be a fan. While the bruised spine sucks, I also tend to believe things generally happen for a reason. With the way Paul took punishment in his willingness to go to war, I think it would've been inevitable that he suffered real brain damage had he fought another 5-10 times in the kind of action fights he became famous for. While he may not have the use of his legs, and may never, it's still preferable to not having a working brain because he took five too many crowd-pleasing back and forth battles.
You laugh, but virtually all medical professionals do place stock in one's mental fortitude and willingness to get better as contributing in a serious way to all manner of recuperation. :conf Obviously there is a lot more in play than simply "mind over matter", not saying otherwise, but having a 'fighter's spirit' can't hurt and no physician will say differently.
Exactly! These things take time. Hopefully Williams is looking at his plight as a challenge and he beats that ****ing wheelchair like a drum! If you have the motivation and spirit to work toward a goal, then you've given yourself a real chance.
