The Georgian Tornado was rousted last summer (not long before he was scheduled to face Billy Joe Saunders) along with a few dozen others suspected of Russian mafia connections, and has been incarcerated ever since. As of the latest updates, circa end of the year to roughly a month ago, he was still awaiting trial. Info has been hard to come by through either Russian or English language sources. Do we know what the minimum sentences he's facing might be? Would they effectively spell the end of his career (he's already 38, so while he was aging like fine wine in the ring you've got to figure anything more than 5 years behind steel bars means he's done for). I know he sounded pretty confident in an interview a few months ago that he would be exonerated. He maintains his innocence of the charges (of being an enforcer and beating up the mob's debtors) even though he admits to being friends with some of the criminal element.
Ah damn, just read Dan Rafael's article from July; didn't realize Khurtsidze was facing RICO charges (meaning they must've suspected him of being among the ringleaders, and not just hired muscle); no way he's getting off with just a few years if convicted, unless he rolls over and turns state's evidence on his comrades and I don't see him being the sort. As it stands, five years (which given the RICO statute would mean serving just a quarter of the usually 20 year sentence) would make him the same age Ibeabuchi was upon his parole.
I heard John Wick took him out -something to do with him liking Mike Tyson and stealing a car whilst killing a dog. Yeah that's it, I'm sure of it.
He's waiting on a unit to open up at 666 Park Ave. Jared gonna need to protect that tight twat in the pokey and AK gonna have his back
I heard he landed in a prison where the guards force the prisoners to fight each other and that he is now being trained by Rakim Oakes and is the prison champion.
