The greatest bridgerweight champion of all time, sitting at one successful defense, has not fought since January, and not defended his title since October 2024. I thought the plan was to make him and La Cruz to have a pro entry into their rivalry, so when is this going to be?

I think he should make a voluntary defense against Christian Hammer.

The winner can then face Atheist Jones or Yehudi Goldberg.

    Mad timing this thread..

As he just became a 3 x World Championship Gold medalist on Saturday.

Seems he's more focused on adding to his impressive medal collection in the amateurs than the pros for some reason.

He probably just isn't keen on facing a bigger challenge in the pros.

I don't know why he's spending any more of his prime in the amateurs, he won't even be allowed to fight in the olympics.

Had he fully focused on a pro career since he made his debut 4 years ago, he'd be a legit threat to Opetaia right now.

I guess he realized if he couldn't put the shell of Mchunu away and went the distance with Leon Harth, his forward trajectory was stark.

While the WBA has La Cruz ranked number 1 they have an interim Bridger champion in Yunovidov. So thats who Muslim would be fighting next presumably.

Since Yunovidov won his interim belt in July theres been nothing about Bridger in the news. While theres been lots of movements with regional and other minor titles its been radio silence about the 4 champs. Its been a year since Muslim fought so should be hearing about him fighting or getting stripped soon?

He should after defend his WBA belt against the new interim champion Vartan Arutyunyan, he should seriously do the unification WBA / WBC in Bridgerweight against the winner of Ryad Merhy vs Kevin Lerena II for the WBC belt.

Muslim Gadzhimagomedov lacks of power and stamina to be a top boxer in heavyweight or to defeat Jai Opetaia at Cruserweight, but he is truly well-rounded in his boxing. He is very technical, his left jab is really good, his defense and offensive capabilities are good, and he has almost all the times perfect footwork and positioning. Along with Vadim Tukov, he is the most balanced Russian boxer in my opinion, across all weight classes. His movements are almost unpredictable, and he varies the pace; he doesn't box like a robot like Elnur Samedov or Vladimir Shishkin. He knows all the boxing moves, He never stays in a straight line like Georgiy Yunovidov for example, and he is not overly defensive like Pavel Silyagin.

His lack of power, in my opinion, limits him to remaining in the Bridgeweight division, but he no longer has pads instead of gloves like Nikolay Pshennikov/Maxim Chernyshev / Dzhambulat Bizhamov.

And he's formidable when it comes to counters; his speed is quite good. I wouldn't put him on the same level as a Kazuto Ioka as a master counter, but he's really good in that area too. Given his positioning, footwork, more than convincing defense, and counter-punches, he can easily handle aggressive boxers like Arslan Yallyev, Evgeny Romanov, and Umar Salamov.

In the world of boxing for the Bridgerweight he looks like Park Chong Pal who was the important champion in the beggin of the Super Middleweight weight classes but was very underrated and still very underrated.

I see he's been fighting in the amateurs at 201. If he comes back he ought to go back down to cruiser.

Todays the day his order to make a fight with Cruz expired right?

Arutyunyan should be ahead of La Cruz now that hes won interim belt.
