The fight is less than a month away and there has been no face to face meeting as far as I know which is unusual, I have a sneaking feeling in the back of my mind that something will happen that causes the cancellation of the fight (You never know with Russians)

Any word on when the official press conference will be?

Wilder has recently given interviews which i loved what i heard. No problem fighting anywhere in the world. Knows anyone and everyone can be beaten, but thinks he'll pummel povetkin into submission

Wilder pulling out would kill the card, that's the fight most are pumped for. Idk, i couldn't care less with mismatches, especially huge mismatches.

Wilder by ko 2 to 5

Wilder only signed last week. So the press conference will probably be rather late as well.

It's just odd that's all that we haven't even seen them in the same room together

Povetkin will destroy Wilder, absolute mismatch in terms of skill.

It baffles me that anyone would confidently say that about either man beating the other.

I see it as a 50-50 fight between 2 mediocre talents in the grand scheme of heavyweight championship history. Both of these guys are plenty flawed, and neither of them strikes me as anything special.

I could see a KO happening one way or another, and it wouldn't surprise me either way.

That some people like you have such strong feeling son this (and the same goes for others who think this will be easy for Wilder) - I don't get it!

Two rather mediocre heavyweights as far as title fights go in the historic sense.

Thing is, if Wilder beats Povetkin fair and square I'll give him full credit for doing so. I'll say congratulations Deontay you've proven yourself now. Well done now we take you seriously. He's done and said a few things that have annoyed me - beating up puny little seriously mentally ill Charlie Z being the main one - but other than that I actually think he's a very amiable chap and I genuinely quite like him. I don't get the impression the Wilder fanboys will be so forthcoming with their praise for Povetkin should he win though, or at least many of the ones on here that is.

Wilder is the slight betting favorite which surprises me given Povetkin is a level above anybody Wilder has faced (bar Nichols) and the fight is in Russia, might be free money backing Povetkin.

You should look at it from a diehard heavyweight fan perspective who've been craving for some exciting hw action in all this MayPac circus for over a decade.

There are many different aspects that makes this interesting (such as East vs West, Black vs White, US vs Russia, K2 era vs The new era) along with two completely different styles going at it, both with KO power.

Who knows, maybe It'll be an addition to your best exciting HW fights episode. :hey

I'm a die hard heavyweight fan who's been craving for an exciting heavyweight fight since Brewster-Liakhovich. But this doesn't especially interest me.

    :conf

Fair enough. But even if this does excite people for these and other reasons, and regardless of my Bah-Humbug attitude towards it - I still find it surprising that anyone has strong opinions regarding who will win.

It would be awesome if it's that good!
