I remember it being a real issue back when it came out. Many folks used it as a legit source of citation and a major way to dig into Pacquiao. Then it just died a quick death. You don't think the possibility of team members making **** up and proliferating it as fact to be dishonorable, sleazy, and contemptible?
"From sources that told me, they said that people in the Pacquiao camp sent a couple of e-mails to the Mayweather camp a few weeks ago, about two to three weeks ago," Atlas said. "And the first e-mail was 'What would the penalty be if our guy tested positive?' and the second e-mail was 'If he did test positive, could we keep this a secret for the benefit of boxing?’ If such emails existed, they would inevitably be used as evidence to support probable cause for suspicion concerning Pacquiao’s alleged use of performance enhancing drugs. In other words, if Team Pacquiao had actually sent the emails, they would have to be stupid. Then they would have to be even more stupid to file a lawsuit. Teddy is such an idiot. If he wanted to make it look more real, he really couldve done a much better job. It is nearly impossible that Pacquiao's camp does not know what the penalties for PED use are.
Or it could just be lawyers being very thorough. That's what they get paid to do. Cover every possible position.
Why do people keep going back to this? It was obviously a fraudulent claim by Atlas. He was duped by Mayweather's people into putting it out there as part of their concerted propaganda campaign to degrade Pacquiao
Yeah, I know it was a fraudulent claim on Teddy's part, or at the very least, lazy journalism. That's exactly why I brought it up. From time to time we should be reminded about sleazy things such as this. It gives us an idea of how far certain people will go to discredit others. And it also reminds us of all of the people, many on this forum, who bought into it, repeated it like robots. Just as they repeated other claims with no supporting evidence.
