Vitali has been out of the game for 3 and a half years, he's not going to magically come back and start where he left off, not even a ATG like Tyson was able to come back and be as dominant as he once was, what makes you think Vitali will?

I bring up the eardrum, because it affects your balance immensly!! Second off,,, Oleg has real heavyweight power and Peter took it and walked thru his shots.

I dont know for certain. I just feel that Vitali has some bussiness to take care of. Plus Vitali has a granite chin and is better than Wlad. We wont know until they fight. So other than Peter what other fighters do u respect and watch on a regular basis?

By outworking Vitali,,, Vitali seems to fad in the late rounds or by possible TKO or KO.. being vitali is 4 years older and fragil physically.

Okay. Anything is possible in the heavyweight division. You also have to think that the four years off has actually help himin the ling run. He has not been fighting right? So i would say that he may be 4 years older like you stated. However, not having the wear and tear of fighting might have helped him.

I saw Vitlai's gym clips when he was prepping for McCline, and he was quick, sharp, and had plenty of pop on the pads.

Although Vitlai has not had an official fight, he has likely sparred 100's of rounds in the gym, which is how you get sharp. In addition, Vitlai has never ballooned up in weight. He pretty much stays at his fighting weight.

While Vitlai is older, I don't think Peter has the stamina to press him in the later rounds.

The Peter who fought Wlad was in his best shape, and had an undefeated; I have not been down type of mindset.

In addition Fighters who come back for the money, often lose their mental edge then once had. Vitali is coming back for PRIDE. He won’t lose his mental edge.

If McCline can floor Peter, Vitlai certainly can. In fact, I predict the will. The longer the fight goes the better off Vitlai's chances of winning it. I do think rounds 1 and 2 are Peter's best shot. But Vitlai has shown an A+ chin, and will likely box the early rounds..

I hope the fight happens. Coming back at Vitlai's age ( 37+ ) , with a long lay off ( 4 years ) , and multiple injures is an impressive feat in boxing, and one for the history books.

I respect all fighters, even Wlad believe it or not. I watch almost every fight thats on TV, but some of the fighters I love watching are Peter, Wlad, Pavlik, Calzaghe, Mayweather, Hopkins, Valuev, and a few others, half of the fighters I named I really dont like, but I do enjoy watching in hopes of a loss.

I'm a huge boxing fan myself. I love to watch Cotto, Calzaghe, JMM, Klits, Mosley, Berto, Abraham, Vernon Forest and Valuev.

Have you not watched the second Peter/Toney fight... Peter was crisp as hell in the 12th round,, McCline fight Peter outworked him from the 4th round until the 12 round.. Stamina Issues are not a concern IMO for peter

I respect your views and opinions, and you seem to be one of the best posters in the classic forum I have come across.

I agree in a few of the points you made, Vitali isnt coming back for money, it's for pride. While I think thats good in a sense, but he also isnt living in poverty either, so he really dont have to fight to feed his family, so one would question his hunger a bit.

I understand McCline floored Peter, and hurt him in the 3rd round like no other fighter, but there were alot of complications for Peter going into that fight, only 9 days to prepare for a different oppenent entirely, a ruptured ear drum, severly bruised hands, so in my opinion he was going into the fight with disadvantages.

While Vitali may of had a granite chin, I really doubt he has one currently, it's been too long away from the fight game and there has already been reported knockdowns in sparring from fighters like Travis Walker who forced him to twist his knee on the way down to the canvas, forcing him to pull out for the 4rth fight against Rahman in late 05.

I feel both Vitali and Peter have alot to prove, thats just hope it happens and the fans get one hell of fight.:good
