I think Vitali is going to win. However, I find it slightly amusing that the same posters that were saying that Vitali was hampered by injury (of the long term kind that don't recover) prior to him even fighting Lewis - and have seen the multiple (is it 5 or 6) postponements are now expecting him to come back at 37 and fight multiple tough fights over the next few years. Where has he found the temple of youth? Yes, I'm sure the rest has helped clear up several nagging injuries - but you can't beat age. I reckon he's got 2 fights left in him at the most, and he might have to be eased through training to do that. Considering all of that? He'll still stop Peter in about 9.....
I think he'll fight on til about mid 2009 when he turns 39. I predict two good years of fighting for Vitali. So at the pace he fights at, that means about three fights.........four at most. But really, I hope he does fight Valuev at some point. That would be a dramatic way to unite two titles...........(assuming Vitali beats Peter and that Valuev beats whomever he fights for the WBA) 6 foot 8 and 6 foot 11 plus................two giant heavies, each with a title on the line. :good
I think Valuev will have more chance of beating Wlad than beating Vitali. Purely because if Wlad goes "jab jab right", and Valuev just keeps on trucking, I'm not sure Wlad has a Plan B - and could possibly gas out again by thrashing away at Valuev. The Clinch is taken out of the question too, because it would drain Wlad more than the big hairy monster. Vitali could probably grind out the win in any manner. Wlad? Could be shaky if he hits him with everything and Valuev just keeps standing there
But seeing if Valuev could keep standing there, as Wlad launches those brutal right hands at him, and even the vicious left hooks...........not to mention the constant hard jabbing..... Could Valeuv stay on his feet.................how entertaining would that be? :good
