I don't think anything has been set in stone; probably going to be set in July or August, considering today's politics.

Furthermore, I doubt Vitali steps in the ring, anyway- he's canceled, what, his last six fights in a row? Rahman three or so times, McCline ... if he's that prone to injury, he should just step down.

The two sides are still in talks from what I've read. Peter's team wants the fight to be in Nigeria, while Klitschko's team wants it to be held in Germany.

I think the Sam Peter camp has a better case, considering he's actually has one of those trinket belts, defeating a top-5 fighter just recently.

Klitschko is the "champion emeritus" (a silly WBC slogan meaning they'll make more money when he comes back).

Still, I think Peter's deserves the call, though I can't remember the last time a championship fight was fought in Nigeria. Interesting. :yep

The USA would be the most logical choice. It would be a pretty big heavyweight fight, and would help to generate some interest in the division with the casual fans and general public.

Apparently, ESPN has confirmed the Vitali-Peter fight is being negotiated, so it looks like the fight is on.

Not sure about the mayoral run, but I think he plans on running, last I read.

But the fight is being put together, as we speak. Gonna be a great fight, while it lasts.

Agreed, but Peter would starch Vitali in 1 or 2. Doesn't matter if Vitali is 100 percent, Peter's just flat out better;)

On a more serious note, if Vitali makes it through training camp, he puts Peter on his ass and finishes him within 6. A healthy Vitali is a nightmare for Peter, and just about everybody else in the heavyweight division:good

Yeah. And actually, I just checked the most recent news from a Russian site and Vitali said he without question wants the Peter fight and is trying to make a deal right now. The "HW champion brothers at the same time" dream is very important to him and it looks like the fight will happen now.

    On that, we fully agree.

I think we all know that the whole his training camp will beat him schtick is nonsense. The amount of injuries has been exaggerated, and blown WAY out of proportion.

He'll be ready; well rested, well sparred, well trained, well conditioned, and will be in fine form. He's too intelligent of a person, and too much of a professional athlete, to not be fully prepared. He knows what Peter brings, and will take whatever measures he has to to get rid of his possible ring rust, in the gym........He is a smart, disciplined guy.........He'll be fully ready to dismantle Peter.

    :good
