Where's Jones appearing please?

 

I would expecting more than that for a night with Roy. A nice bubble bath and a glass of wine afterwards at the minumum.

 

It's easy money, basically. Why's it sad? It's not like they're doing some sort of **** exhibition against a local fighter to bring in the money. It's big names with good personalities talking to fans. Seems perfectly reasonable.

 

I googled 'roy jones uk tour' and got **** all back. Someone just say the god damn mother ****ing venues for christ's sake. Oh and the dates.

This thread is a classic example of why fighters should retire in their prime.

How cool would it be to have met RJJ if he retired immediately after the first Tarver fight, when it was obvious that Roy had lost that special spark by then.

The buzz of talking to RJJ, all those great wins, then beating the heavyweight champ & going out as a winner against Tarver, knowing that he just had enough left in the tank to secure his legacy? It would have been like talking to a boxing god, about the stuff of boxing legend.

Instead when I think of RJJ now, its soured with all those horrible defeats to lesser fighters, the Glen Johnson fight standing out as the worst. RJJ would have stood that man on his head in his prime, but RJJ hung around too long & soured his own legacy.

If I met him now? All I would want to ask him is WHY???

Why did you **** it all up by hanging around and losing to guys that wouldnt even have lain a glove on you in your prime???

Theres no doubt if RJJ had chosen the right moment, there would be a helluva lot more people turning up to eat a meal, & be charded for getting their photo with him.

Aimless post, but its what I was thinking, so I just posted it anyway.

Its in Boxing News this week, I seem to remember Jones got no money off of the Hopkins rematch cause the ppv sale were **** poor, maybe he has some debts from that and this is an easy way for him to make a few bob.

Any idea what these guys make from these events?

 

not sure but to normal people it would be a life changing sum, to people like jones it will be nothing much,

with all the moeny he has made if he has debts jones will end up broke, how i will never know, he cant be this stupid, but somehow a too real story for many boxers,

I once saw his home on youtube filled with its own games hall for basketball.

Another boxer going into the gutter due to stupid financial mismanagement.
