Wasn't an S class fighter, but he went out of his way to fight the best of the best. Pugnacious style/a badass attitude. A promoter's dream really. Donno if anyone else feel this way.
sadly people don't appreciate the fact that he fought everybody. now people underate him because he fought the 2 best fighters of this era when he could've done what most people think they're doing and cherry pick
I miss the raucous British fans flying over to Vegas and the atmosphere they created more than I miss Hatton himself. He had some exciting fights (Collazo, Mayweather), but I'm not particularly a fan of that grappling, workman-like inside fighting style.
Kinda. I was a big Hatton fan when he was in his pomp. His style frustrated me at times but overall I enjoyed watching his career.
Ricky always brought that crazy crowd of fans with him. And he was a gentleman outside the ring. I miss that.
Definitely miss him. . . If he could have kept his head on straight, and shook off the Pac KO, I think he could have added some decent names to his resume. . . Of course, he really didn't have anything left to prove. . . I think Bradley probably would have beat him, but it would have been a pick 'em fight. . . Lol, also prolly an ugly fight to watch. . . Khan also would have beat him. But I think he beats Alexander, Maidana. . . And I think him vs. Marquez @ 140 would have been a lot closer than some might expect. . . Marquez has never been in the ring with a strong, excellent inside fighter like Hatton. . . Don't say katsidis, cause he ain't CLOSE to Hatton on the inside - power, technique, nor foot speed. Quez prolly would have adjusted, and got him, though. . But Hatton would have gave him all kinds of hell. . .
I do, he gave a great deal of buzz to British boxing which has sadly faded away and we lack a real mainstream star again.
How the hell can anyone say he fought everybody when junior Witter was chasing his ass for a decade. The fight was there to be made too when Witter was the #1 guy when Hatton was champion. Not to mention the excuses Hatton used to avoid fighting Witter were downright atrocious.
I think Hatton would have broken him down on the inside. . . I see there being some nice two-way action during parts of each round over hte first half of the fight, but eventually Hatton just had too much technique, and was too good at getting inside. . . Hatton's left hook to the body was more devastating, and powerufl than Ward's. . . Hatton would have stopped him around the 9th, I believe.
aren't you the fuking ****** that picked Lennox Lewis AND both kbros to beat a Prime Ali and to KO a prime ali?
