The man was talking mad **** about Margarito, said he would knock out Margarito in 2 rounds, Margarito is not a true champion etc..... This mother ****er is stupid and how many times has his mouth gotten him beat the **** up? Margarito will destroy Mayorga, But I guess Mayorga is cashing in on big fights while there are still a few ahead of him. He has to get by Shane tonight in order to fight Margarito, either way if the winner of this fight does fight Tony, that will be their last.
I second that. Mayorga gives value for money, you gotta give him that. He does come off with some crazy ****, but we all know he is just hyping the fight (be it the present contest or a possible future one). Margarito-Mayorga would be a cracking fight while it lasted.
Marg is a better all around fighter for sure, but I would give Mayo a good - a very good - chance in that fight. Marg thinks he can eat everyone's shots, and Mayo is a monster puncher at 147. If Marg doesn't take care of his defence he might just get KTFO. It's a style thing.
Younger in shape Mayorga would have been a great fight for Margarito. Even now it would be a good fight, I just don't think he has the stamina to stay in there if it does for more than a few rounds and I don't know if he has the speed anymore to land hard combos.
Mayorga is great and funny during the promotions he knows how to get under your skin. I think his life style will catch up with him but I agreed he is exciting, when he fights is a lot's of electricity in the air every time he gets in trouble in Nicaragua Don King bails him out sort of cash cow.
