148 on fight night. Compared to the other people in his division, he's a shrimp. He's getting by on skills alone.

Thurman had a fight night weight of 160 vs Diaz
Maidana weighed in at 165 vs Floyd.
Even Khan weighed in at 161 last night.
    Porter at 160 vs Paulie.

Even Lucas came in the ring 157 against Molina.

Mayweather is one of the few real welterweights.

I wish they had weight-ins the same day as the fights were, so we could see guys fighting in their real weightclass. That would make fights much better.

    This.

    But it isn't.

It is nice to see a guy do a "throwback fighter" move when it comes to fight night weights. He shouldn't get more credit for it as it's his choice not to drain like most fighters.

I do think Mayweather is obviously the smallest in ring WW among the WW top 10, with only Marquez and Pacquiao having some comparable in ring weights for the division.

pacquiao's in weight ring is imo pretty light in comparison to guys who 16-17lbs

but in saying that pacquiao's scale weight is usually 2lbs or so under the limit....

so he rehydrates a good 7lbs...

floyd weighs in exactly the same on fight night and the weigh in

Because pac fills his belly with food and water to make 147 whereas duckweather drains himself to make weight
