Ever since having to rid myself of cable...yes. Indeed. It sucks. I have to go to my friends house every other week or so just to get my fix... DVR is my savoir right now. I just call em up when I wanna see a fight, have him record that *****, then buy us a 12 pack and enjoy... : )

Not really.... I think, and hope, that regardless of anything for the most part, boxing will always have its place with me.....

I don't have sky, I don't even have freeview and my laptop isn't even good enough to play youtube videos properly so yeah it's pretty tough to follow!

I'm the weirdo who sits in the library watching old fights.

If it were not for the internet, I think I would be lost. Even with the internet, I still find it hard to keep up. Boxing disappeared from the main stream years ago and even though we have the internet, we still miss a lot of fights. The problem with boxing is that it is a global sport and not something like American baseball or football per say which is easy to follow, has mainstream media and is well regulated.

I can see why some people might flock to the UFC for example. It's easy to follow, it's also mainstream, they have less weight classes, only one belt per weight class and since they are their own organization, it's easy to follow because the names and faces are not as random as boxing.

Yes, boxing is hard as hell to follow, you have to do a lot of research and reading to keep up.

    Take this for example

    there are
1095 active heavyweights in the world
    and below more active stats
    917 active cruiserweights
    751 Light heavy
    884 super middleweight
    1080 middleweight
    1120 Light middleweight
    1460 welter weight
    1353 light welterweight
    1418 light weight
    1094 super feather
    932 super bantam
    859 bantam
    588 super flyweight
    708 flyweight
    432 light flyweight
    274 minimumweight

Total active fighters as of today?

    14965

That is a lot of fighters to know and keep track of considering the logevity of the sport with regards to fighters.

    :-(

Yeah, I have had a lull in interest ever since about the end of last year. Not too many exciting fights happening at the moment so it's kind of hard to get myself up for it right now and this forum is full of ****ing trolls who can't speak on the sport intelligently so my interest in coming here has died a bit too.

Oh well, I'm sure my hunger for the sport will come back sometime... it always does, I just have lulls like this from time to time and it usually coincides with the gap of inactivity from the top names in boxing.

I'll admit it's hard to really like boxing recently. With Floyd/Mayweather falling through, Pavlik and Williams not fighting each other and a whole slew of other big fights not coming into fruition, there's not much to really talk about. Clottey/Pac isn't entertaining and spending Feb to May analyzing Mosley/Mayweather is a tad on the grating side.

Just not much to talk about right now.
