A common misconception at ESB is that Selfkill is actually a Mexican. This is obviously due to the fact that all my favorite fighters are from Mexico City (a huge coincidence). In any event, Selfkill is actually from United Kingdom and this fight gives him a chance to see his favorite fighter of all time fight in the flesh. I'm so stoked. I'm going with my dad, and this is the first fight I would have been to see. Anybody else going to see this fight from the UK and cheering on the Mexican?
selfkill plz be carefull when your cheering the mexican. I've seen wat us british people do to the outsiders. just be humble whilst cheering, meaning lose the big mexican flag and barerra T shirt
I was planning on coming in a Barrera T-shirt. I hear what you are saying, though. **** the British people, half of 'em don't even know the sport exists outside the confines of Britain. I should tell 'em that's where all the action is.
I really hope but don't expect Khan to win....not a fan of Barrera after he somehow avoided disqualification after slamming Hamed's head into the turnbuckle
I think that would have been a terrible disservice to Boxing and Barrera had Cortez disqualified Marco for that. He took the necessary action by deducting a point, and then the schooling continued. A great night for Barrera, a great night for Mexico, and a great night for Boxing. Hamed wasn't exactly playing it fair all night either. Hitting and holding, pulling Marco to the ground, and back handing.
Hitting and holding is par for the course in boxing.........turnbuckles in the face when done so obviously for all to see is ridiculous
It wasn't so much the head into the turnbuckle that I was upset about, it was the restraining hold and run up that ****ed me off
I'm clutching at nothing.....I'm not debating the outcome/result of that fight, that has nothing to do with my inital point
You would have been happy to see Marco get disqualified for that? Even if I wasn't a huge Marco fan, I can't relate to a Boxing fan wanting to go that far.
That's your opinion. I'm with Jim Lampley and the majority of the Boxing community. "It was sensational". :happy
