I seldom see anybody talk about these fights...

    Chris Byrd - Jameel McCline
    Jorge Arce - Hussein Hussein
    Johnny Gonzalez - Israel Vasquez

I mostly enjoyed the fights for the stories that they showed in the ring and pretty much every quality of each fighter was on complete display in each fight...:smoke Anyone else like these rarely discussed fights?

I never saw Byrd vs McCline, but Arce vs Hussein and Gonzalez vs Vasquez are must see fights!! I have both fights on DVD. Vasquez vs Gonzalez shows the will, determination, and perserverance Vasquez shows when he gets in the ring. He never gives up in a fight even if he is down in the score cards. Vasquez vs Gonzalez might have arguably been stopped a little prematurely. I still think Vasquez would have won regardless.

I cringe at anything with McCline involved in it...
Just based on how big he is and how much power he don't have.
(I tend to forget about his fight's and what took place, tho his Peter KD's were pretty sweet...lol)
^^I'll look thru the archives and give this a view again, THX for the head's up

I defo agree with Shadow Box "Arce vs Hussein and Gonzalez vs Vasquez are must see fights!!"

He had enough power to drop Peter several times. He has 23 KO's (about 60% KO percentage). The boy has ample power, he just doesn't get himself in the position to use it consistently.

    The other fights rock.

Byrd was knocked down pretty hard Ibeabuchi style in the 2nd round and came back and the fight was just about even up til the 10th and Byrd had to win the last 2 rounds the old fashioned way by fighting and by punching and he put together some good combinations.. Perhaps my favorite Chris Byrd win
