Not sure I buy into Lara trying to actually make fights at 160. There's a bit of chat on twitter and little else. Would be a good move for him though, I think MW is a hotter division than LMW

I like watching their fights, but Rigo's last one was a bit of a bore for me.

Same here: I enjoy and appreciate slick and stylish boxers, for the artistry they bring.

Plus, isn't the salient point of boxing to hit and not be hit?

As someone who used to actually box I love watching Lara and Rigo. I enjoy the technique involved with boxing and not just the wildness.

I also beleive in sport evolution. Guys like Rigo and Lara may be boring, but IMO why change the way they win so the other guy has a better chance? Why make it easier for your opponent?

Of course not everyone likes the same thing

boxing is whatever you want it to be, yes it could be hitting and not get hit.

But it has never been about downplaying your own skills to even a playing field. Nobody blames tyson from knocking people half dead with major concussions. They could easily say "all tyson does is kill his opponents, he can't box for ****, if he used 50% of his power his opponents would have a better chance".

bUT How ridiculous does that sound? Yet, saying things like "He should have stood toe to toe" "He didn't let the guy fight him" or "He only runs and pot shots, no power!" is completely fine

See, asking the puncher to tone down his power is completely ludicrous.

Yet asking the boxer to tone down their hand and foot speed is something I read almost weekly from reading boxing forums and other combat forums.

    interesting, no?

I would watch them fighting good opponents, but not mismatches like ones they have been involved in lately.

The better the opponent the more they run.
